Man Cave, who has one ?

Depends - we work from different rooms. Then, in the evening, she and my daughter like watching women’s TV on a massive screen (they have lots of subscriptions) while I prefer watching online from MacBook.

Man Cave, who has one ?

I don’t want to have a common man-cave. However, I like my room with my hobby items

    Octopus energy

Very good night tariff I just switched to Octopus. I have 27 panels installed last year and Tesla Powerwall2. I am on Flux tariff, but thinking I will stop trading energy because the difference between buying and selling is only 1.5p… I asked to install smart gas meter as I don’t want reading...

Equipment For Sale Lots of wine bottle 0.7 litre with and without screw top

I have lots of wine bottles and need to get rid of perhaps 100 of them. Lots of shapes and forms though I have circa 84 exactly the same non-screw top bottles. All screw-top bottles are the bottles you buy in a supermarket. All in Swindon, Wiltshire, northern part, easy to get from A419. £7 for...

Kit for carbonating ale with cartridges?

I am travelling abroad and want to impress my in-laws with my brew. I do not want fully carbonate my ale before the flight, but on arrival because it is not permitted to take CO2 soda cartridges on flights, so I have to buy them there. I won't stay long enough to use carbonation drops. What kit...

Essential Equipment: Seeking Advice from Experienced Brewers

My take on it though I am not professional, and brewing for about 1 year (not counting experience with Pinter): Fermenters: Plastic vs. glass—what do you prefer? - I prefer plastic: 1. It is cheaper, 2. I like watching how it brews, 3. The signal from Rapt Pill is reliable; 4. I brew under...

    Electric cars.

If you want wind turbine, then let me know and I will introduce you to Ripple Energy - we both should get some money off. It is not as economically viable as looks (invest £1.8k and get enough electricity to power your house for 20+ years when wind turbine wears out), but still better than...

    Electric cars.

Found at least bizarre, article that shows how easy it is to bend the truth https://apple.news/AxGja6kvkSVyQ6Klj68TTsg The truth is that Europe doesn’t have much resources to make own batteries for electric cars, only Norway has the rare earth minerals. However. Their excavation is very damaging...

    Making normal strength wine?

Sounds like a great idea. I sometimes wonder how come I have not thought about it? I will do it next time How is acidity of the wine? The reason why I am asking is because I recently made kvass, and I feel it is very acid and I suspect the acidity stopped it fermenting

    Making normal strength wine?

I checked now and do not see they mention ABV, except Cosmopolitan, here is the list of the wines I made: Cosmopolitan Twisted Mist (made in Canada), 4/11/2023, sg 1050, 21-23/11/2023 1000, Beaverdale White Wine Kit - Sauvignon Blanc - 30 Bottle (23L), 9.2-9.3% alcohol (bottled 29/9/2023)...

    Making normal strength wine?

I have Rapt Pill and manually measure gravity before and after - the results are close to each other easily within 1%, so I am confident my wine is weak. Also, drinking and not getting drunk is another indicator of a weak wine 😵‍💫 wink....

Small leak from the connection between the keg and the hand tap?

I get a small leak when I connect tap line to the keg. The leak is in the connection of the ball lock disconnect and post. I thought the Ball Lock Disconnect was not working correctly, so I tried a few others, but it still leaked. Maybe the post is not working? However, it used to work fine...

    Complete newbie

True, there are sediments at the bottom of 2 litre bottle, but they are in any bottle. However, 2 litre loses bubbles if you leave it unfinished, this is true

    Making normal strength wine?

I like my wines made from kits. However, I suspect they are 8-9.5% strength while I want to get to 11-13%. And I think I ferment all sugar out I read that I can add brandy, but I don't like the idea Are there other options to make the wine stronger from the start? I am considering adding more...

    Complete newbie

I started with 2 litre plastic water bottles before I got myself couple of kegs - larger bottles mean less things to wash. Ideally, they should be from lemonades or other gassed drinks, but Aldi, Lidl etc often sell their sparkling and still water in the same bottles, so you can buy them for...

    New to home brewing

Welcome. If it does not work, then still do not give up - unfortunately, but the quality of the equipment and especially material makes a difference: at lower price end, slightly more expensive can be significantly easier to use

Could you tell me if PCO38 TAPPING HEAD KIT can be used with cartridge CO2 for gasing the brew? I am thinking about taking my brew for a travel abroad to South America, so, I will decompress the vessel, buy CO2 cartridges in the destination and use to gas the brew up. I assume it will take any...
