Can I half fill a keg (corny)

If that was the same we would all be dead as air is made up of 0.04% CO2, it doesn't 'sink' to ground level.

    Fridge recommendations

Most undercounter fridges are a little taller than that, around 80cm. There are mini fridge like this one https://www.currys.co.uk/products/russell-hobbs-rhttldr2ss-mini-fridge-silver-10235547.html not sure of the internal dimensions but it's a 40l capacity.

    Which spunding valve?

I had one of the brass ones and it was garbage, could never get it to stay at a consistent pressure. I now use both the big and small red keg land ones, I did have an issue with one of the big ones leaking, I probably just need to give it a good clean. The keg land ones do have a bigger...

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

I tried a dry hop using the flex chamber and was a bit of a disaster, needed to bubble loads of CO2 to get the hops up into the FV. Think I'll just open the lid and chuck them in next time. Flex chamber was great for both seeing fermentation was active and for dumping trub. Also have a carb...

Rapt website not consistent logging on

I’ve not had any issues with mine, I have it connected to a rapt temp controller so can set up a gravity based profile, eg, ‘when the SG gets to 1.020 rise temp to 22°C over 4 days’.

Rapt website not consistent logging on

There’s always a danger with the ‘pay once, get everlasting service’ model that the upkeep for ever increasing numbers of users becomes unsustainable financially. I would much rather pay a little less up front and have an annual subscription, they could bundle it with something like Brewfather...

    Greggs vegan sausage rolls

Maybe they like enjoy the taste and texture of meat but without killing. With plenty of meat substitutes and, to a lesser degree, lab made meat, you can have it both ways.

    Zombie knife ban

Getting these sorts of knives out of circulation and more difficult to buy can only be a good thing. The design of the blades maximise the internal injuries meaning the victim is more likely to die than if stabbed with a plain bladed knife.

Has anyone bought this Mini Keg Starter Kit?

Might be better off with a proper regulator, will the keg not fit in your fridge? The mini-kegs won’t be much smaller once you have the tap mounted. In my early days of beer I did buy an insulated barrel which worked really well for keeping a mini keg cool. Must see if a 5l stainless keg would...

    Mrs Smith Brews

I have the G40, great bit of kit. If I was starting out again then I might go for the Brewzilla 65l gen 4 as it has such a large brewlength range. I have found trying to do small batches of low ABV beer problematic in the G40. The new Keg King stainless Apollo is very good value, as are the new...

    Covid

I had it in April, caught from a mate at a gig. We still keep a box of tests knocking around just to confirm so whoever has it knows whether they to keep themselves away from the rest of the family so we don’t all end up catching it or that they just have man flu!

Has anyone bought this Mini Keg Starter Kit?

More expensive than the mini-kegs that work with a party-star would be 'proper' 5 or 10l stainless ones like these: https://brewkegtap.co.uk/collections/minikegs-and-growlers The cheapo ones only last for a few brews before the thin plastic liners degrade - they are really just 5l sized tin...

Using a shelf chiller to cool wort

I was thinking of using my shelf chiller to cool the water going to the CFC so it can be a bit quicker cooling and also cool to lager pitch temps. That way there's no hot wort going through the shelf chiller, just cold tap water.
