    Cider advice

I'm with you on this, I've made a few ciders using my basket press and apples from a local community orchard, I left it for a year to age (I let it wild ferment too, nothing added to the juice) and I was pretty underwhelmed, it tasted like turbo cider, in fact I've made better turbo ciders, if...

Equipment Wanted 35 litre snub nose Keg King fermenter

I've got a Gen 3 Fermenter king that I no longer use, would that be of any interest to you? At the moment it needs replacement seals where the thermowell comes through the lid but I'll try and source some this week, I cant imagine they'll cost any more than 50p. It has a new body I got from...

    (expletive deleted)

I had a similar thing happen to me a couple of years ago, luckily it leaked in the utility room which has lino flooring. Whack some vaseline on the tap thread, that solved my leak issue although I've since moved on to corny kegs.

    SMASH pseudo pilsner

I've just read the review, a very interesting sounding beer, I've never played about with Galaxy, I'd love to give it a go.

    SMASH pseudo pilsner

It doesn't have to be a SMASH, I just wanted an easy brew day, I usually make ales or stouts so I wanted to start out with the basics for a lager. I've no idea if you can make a PL using Voss, according to YouTube you can, I'm interested to find out!

    SMASH pseudo pilsner

As the title alludes to, my next brew is going to be a SMASH pseudo pilsner/lager, now, as I'm a bit of a tight arse, I didn't want to spend more cash on hops when I've got plenty in the freezer that need using up, the only problem is I've got no Nobel hops, only English and New world, has...

Beer monster clear kegs for homebrew?

I didn't go down this route in the end I'm afraid so I can't give any feedback, I ended up getting a couple of corny kegs and a soda stream co2 set-up, it's one of the best home brew decisions I've made.

    Fermentersaurus seals

Does anyone know what size the two small rubber/silicone seals or o-rings are that sit in the indents on the plunger rod/thermowell that supposedly stop cow escaping from the lid? Mine have finally given in and I can't find a supplier that sells them so I was wondering if I could just use...

    What pressure to serve stout?

    That's brilliant, thank you.

    What pressure to serve stout?

Morning all, I've recent made the jump to kegging and have just completed my first oxygen free transfer to a corny, my question is, what pressure (PSI) should I be serving an oatmeal stout at? Also I'm new to my CO2 set-up so I have no idea about the difference in carbonating and serving...

    Deformed Fermentersaurus

Morning all, A few weeks back I managed to stupidly deform my Fermentersaurus by pourning boiling hot wort into it (I know, I know...) I don't know what I was thinking but anyway, as expected it has now got a lot of funky lumps and depressions on it, it still works of sorts but I don't trust...

Beer monster clear kegs for homebrew?

Afternoon folks, I've not got the real estate at home for a keg and kegerartor set up and I'm fed up with washing and storing bottles. Today I saw a website that supplies a home draught tap that accommodates 3 different 5ltr kegs, the clear keg that it takes looks like a mini version of a...

Replicating an extract recipe with all grain

Good morning folks, as the title alludes to I am trying to replicate a recipe I made from LME and convert it into an all grain recipe. The exact recipe I used was: 3kg Morgan's caramalt LME 1.5kg Morgan's pale malt LME 11.5g Safale saison yeast 40g Bramling cross 60min boil 4 tsp yeast...

    Buying honey in bulk

So I've made quite a few traditional meads now ranging from cheap supermarket basics honey to local bee keepers honey and I have to say that the best honey I've found to make mead now is Tesco's finest acacia blossom honey, I've made it a few times using MJ mead yeast and every time it's has...

When can I add hop tea?

Thanks for the helpful replies gents, I guess the best course of action is sample it and see.

When can I add hop tea?

Good morning, I recently moved on from kit brewing and made my first extract Saison last night, I decided to keep it simple so I made it a SMASH recipe. Using the brewfather app, I invented a recipe that most closely resembles a strong Saison but to be inkeeping with the recommended IBU I only...
