    I think you need to check the cost you have quoted.....its out by a factor of 10. wink... In what way, in your experience, wasn't the EasyDens accurate? In what aspect of measurement was it fallible?

    No problem....seemingly, according to Jim who sorted the prizes, we were inundated with yeast!!! Congratulations and enjoy the G'father grain mill. Next years comp will be "Dark Beers".

    Forgetting to remove the stir bar from the yeast starter flask before pitching the yeast. Not a problem normally....I have plenty of stir bars. But then.... Racking off the trub from the conical before bottling in a couple of days time, and finding that I couldn't close the butterfly valve...

    I've got a can of Experiments in Evil in the garage which has been there since I came home from last years comp!!! Need to be in the right frame of mind to crack it open at 10.5%. I do wish they would rebrew their Jamaican Gingerbread Stout, which I remember fondly from one of our other visits...

    For those with M15 "issues"....it is a well known "low attenuator"...mash at 67/68 and you will end up with a sweet beer....mash power at 64/65 and it will do a better job.
