    got the exact same reading today so its in the bottles, dosen't really taste all that good.primed half with carb drops & half with just sugar, hopefully taste a bit better in a few weeks. :cheers:

    hi all, got this john bull cider kit mixed it up & been in fermentation for 1 week now. took a reading with hydrometer reading was 1.022. i did put in a little more than 1 kg of tate & lyle sugar. fermntation seems to have stopped, would it be ok to bottle at this current reading ???

    thanks abeyptfc, so your the 1 & only partick thistle supporter :lol: so how do i avoid bottle bombs ? i have 500ml plastic bottles should i not bother with the carbonating drops that come with kit & just add sugar when bottling " how much"?

    thanks bb/brewer, the temp has been pretty constant as the heating on constant in these cold temps so hopefully should be ok just take a little longer. i think i'll invest in a heater belt for next brew, cheers :thumb:
