Just racked off mine and asked the misses to have a little taste and she pulled some funny faces and said 'thats the worse wine i've ever tasted!' I thought it was a little sharp but put that down to not being totally ready but not the worse. I'm hoping leaving it a month or so to clear...

OK so now I have more bottles of wine than the misses is happy with sitting on the kitchen side so wondering how best to store them? I just cleared a whole heap of sh!t out my garage with the thought of storing it out there, i even have a shelf unit with a few wine rack shelves out there would...

i started my first ever beer brew on sunday last week, i just syphoned it into a barrel with 85g of sugar and left it. the guy in the shop gave us a packet of finings as well but the instructions doesn't mention it. should i have put it in?? also i've read somewhere that the plastic barrels...

I have a kit wine which had finished fermenting so i added the stabiliser/finnings which came with it, left it for a few days and racked it into a clean DJ with CT in, sorted. Only being somewhat forgetful i went and added bentonite to the DJ as well a few days later! Now i realise this...

In order to work out the final ABV do you need to take (and keep) a reading when you start? Or can you just use the hydrometer to work it out at the end? :wha:

So I've done something wrong then.....!!!

I've always got a head ache after drinking certain lager regardless of the amount so i tend to say away from them now and i'm fine even on a bender. So there must be some chemicals at work somewhere here rather than just quantity of alcohol! Fluff
