Beer kit (geordie's) left in FV for 5 months!

Just to let you know.....I made vinegar. All dumped the other day.

    What did you brew today?

Set off a gallon of elderflower wine and a gallon of rose petal wine. Both should come out around 8%. The yeast is old, so not sure it will work but hey a bit of foraging with the dog in order to collect means its not wasted.

    What are you drinking 2024.

No photo....but Perlembourg. Lidl's cheapest lager. 6.95 (£6) for nine half litre bottles. Think Coors or something like that....nothing special but drinkable. Don't jusdge....no homebrew and times are tight!

My experience of homebrew shops recently......

Went onto their site to have a look this evening....everything is marked as sold out! Is this usual? Was looking to try them instead of Brouwland to change (for delivery to France). Anyone have a clue?

Is the Homebrew hobby in decline?

Oh I agree I could get it cheaper....but I'd need to hit the 30kg mark (out of my range). And I tend to use Brouwland as I have found a wider choice and fantastic customer service.

Is the Homebrew hobby in decline?

My personal opinion: Yes and no..... NO: Those who have always done homebrew will continue to do so. The internet community helps further a community such as this YES: It is expensive. I could never buy the things required to do grain beers (so always LME) It is harder to get kits (here in...

    Short measures

This is just a lack of training/knowledge coming through. As a longtime barman/waiter I have seen people who have no idea about weights and measures act etc.

How many litres of home brew have you made 2024

Still nothing...money is tight so waiting on taking the plunge on ordering a few kits for a few months. Hoping to get some kits for starting about the end of July. (Hence the absence from here)

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Living for the last seven years in France, those are good choices. One thing I will say: those Gordon glasses are horrible to serve beer on tap in! Worked as a barman in a brasserie serving Gordon on tap in those...horrible. But thanks for the reminder....good memories of that place.

I sadly can't participate due to living in France, but thoroughly enjoyed reading all the reviews etc.

The UK doesn't want the Imperial system back.

I must say I use imperial and metric interchangeably. I mean as previously noted my conversions may not be to the exact gram or ounce. At 37 I have grown up with imperial and metric so I guess it is much the same. The only thing that irks me is in France when you order a pint it is neither a...
