do i have the correct CO2 regulator?

Thanks for the advice, the image of The gague hooked up to the beer line is helpful, and it's good to know I need to keep an eye on the type of thread. I think I will get two of these, using one attached to a gas out fitting to monitor pressure in standing cornies is a great idea (I currently...

do i have the correct CO2 regulator?

Thanks for the replies. Fil, fitting an extra gague sounds good, would something like this be suitable? Also could you suggest the correct fittings i would need to use? I'm in the process of upgrading a lot of my brew gear but still have a lot to learn, and dont want to end up buying things...

do i have the correct CO2 regulator?

Thanks for the advice guys I will keep an eye on those things next time I keg. In the meantime looks like I may need a secondary regulator, which is frustrating as I bought the first one at the same time as i got the corny from the same supplier so assumed it would be suitable.

do i have the correct CO2 regulator?

I have a regulator for my Cornelius Keg system but i am starting to wonder if it is approriate as all i am getting when i pull a beer is a glass full of foam. The regulator is seen below: I do not have any lines, i have a tap attached directly to the corny, so i know that may cause an...

    Hop Aroma

I am a big fan of brewdogs Punk IPA as it has a lovely aroma I have been unable to find in bottled supermarket beer. My question is, if I was try and recreate that kind of aroma, what would be the best way of doing it? Dry hopping? Adding aroma hops at the end of the boil? Also how much would...

    Other names for Medium DME

I have just purchased the beer smith 2 iPhone app and was trying to input a recipe. I can't seem to find medium dme in there which seems strange to me. Could it be under any other names? Light dry extract is there but not medium

    Is my beer too strong?

The OG is 1.049 on my hydrometer, but next this it says 'potential alcohol 8%' I'm not sure what to do now? On the hydrometer the 'start beer' band is between 1.030 and 1.040 and 'start wine' is between 1.044 and 1.090. The hydrometer came with my first youngs homebrew kit.

    Saaz extract brew advice please

some time ago i eagerly bought some (but not all!) ingredients from my local homebrew store for a pilsner extract brew. At the time the guy in the store gave me some instructions on how to brew the beer that i hastily scrawled down, but i have since lost these. Could anyone give me some advice...

    Cheers! from Blackpool

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, i went to the Thornton shop today and got a Coopers European lager kit (anyone tried this?), which is now in the FV. I also decided to brew with brewing sugar this time round to see if there was a difference (does this really make much of a difference?)...
