Anyone know where I can get Norm's Gas Recharged.

Simon, Thanks for your reply. Presumably you would have to put some sort of a deposit on the bottle, not that I mind though. A bottle that size should last a long time. I have already Googled them and will give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Chris.

Anyone know where I can get Norm's Gas Recharged.

Hi all, I'm just about to go all Pro and get myself a couple of Norm's Cornys ordered up with all the bells and whistles to go with them. Norm kindly advised that I should research my local area to see if I can get the converted fire extinguishers he sells refilled before purchasing. I'm...

    Videne Rinsing

Hi all, Just got myself some Videne ordered up for this coming weekends brew. It's going to be the first time I use to replace my old fashioned Sodium Met that I have been using up until now. I've just read the great post on cleaning / sterilising Corny's with the Oxy followed by the Videne and...

My very useful Water Report - This one will amuse you !

Richc, Unfortunately that link does not accept my postcode. I played around with different postcodes and it seems to only accept postcodes for different counties. Otherwise, it is perfect, when it did finally accept a random postcode (no where near me) it seems to provide much of the info you...

My very useful Water Report - This one will amuse you !

This is a classic case of why automated responses are absoultelu useless !!! I have recently spent some time trying to find all the bits n bobs that are in water so I can put them into the calculator on this very site to establish my water treatment plan. Because the web site is as good as...

Am I expecting too much ?

Hey thanks for all the replies.... With regards to water treatment, yes I do treat, but it seems that every different book / post you read offers different advice on this subject. As a minimum, I boil for 10 mins or so and then put in some Gypsum with some Epsom Salts, but I suppose without me...

I don't think the bottles froze - but whi know's what happened over the past week in the extreme conditions when I was not around to monitor them for a week. I'm gonna bring the bottles in and hope for the best. If this does not work, as a last chance I will try adding some more sugar, but not...

    Lack of Fizzzzz........ Help Please

Hi all, another question from me I'm afraid. This hobbie can be so dissapointing at times ! I've just returned today from my holidays and I was very much looking forward to trying one of my latest brews. I bottled 12 bottles of an A.G and barrelled the rest a good four weeks ago. I've just...

    Polyclar Failure ?

Hi All, I've just got into this Polyclar business with what appears to be limited success. I bottled around one week ago and could see straight through the bottles as if there was clear water within which I was of course well pleased with (crystal clear beer !!!!). However, I moved to the shed...

    Fermentation Heater

Don't waste your money on a Brewbelt ! I bought one recently and it kept the liquor way too hot (around 24-25C). Used it for halve the fementation and have now thrown t the back of the cupboard where it will sit for the next 25 years or so. Tasted a mini sample this morning and think it may...

    Cost of brewing

Just reading the responses to this interesting post. I've never really worked it out in terms of coists. But with the likes of Sainsbury's and Tesco's now selling 72 bottles or so of lager for around £30 or so and also Aldi selling premium brand Ale's for a quid a bottle I think if the sole...

    Carbonating versus Priming Sugar

Ah great, I kind of get it at last. Just one question though please Mark. When you say you pull about five pints or so and then it needs a top up; does that mean in just one go. Or, if you pull a few pints and then leave for a few days, should it kind of recharge again ? Thanks.....

    Carbonating versus Priming Sugar

Thanks for the replies, I'm not sure if I have used the correct wording by saying force carbing ? What I am actually referring to is, pucnhing in a few shots of CO2 in through the valve at the top of the King Keg (whatever that process is called). Does that kind of answer your question Moley, I...

    Carbonating versus Priming Sugar

Hi All, I recently put a post up regarding finishing in general to which I am grateful for the many responses. I am now well into secondary fermentation and getting ready for barelling into my King Keg. My query is; what is the difference between throwing in approximately 80 grams of sugar...
