    Water additions with RO water

Wonder what you would suggest in my case - I live in hard water area, so I installed water softener for all normal taps and installed drinking water tap with a filter. So, I know my water profile is different from what is in the water main, therefore, the water chemical profile water companies...

    Advise on keg size, please

Thanks, I thought what I could use for Carb bottles, Carb cap Tee Piece Kit should work well for me. I got couple of 19 Litre kegs now, and planning to pick up another taller fridge today to fit them there wink...

Do you know what yeast Simply Lager uses?

I bought this kit to try making lager in pressure fermenter https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/simply-lager-beer-kit/?v=79cba1185463. It has yeast attached at the bottom Instructions say the temperature should be 20-25 Celsius, below 15 Celsius fermentation will stop altogether. I suspect...

Do you fully disassemble kegs each time when you clean it?

Really like Kegland Bucket Blaster - it looks like Clean in Place setup. Are there similar or better products than this at a lower price? Perhaps saves just a bit of effort, but does not involve a lot - set it up, go to online meeting, come back in 15-30 mins... Great!

Do you fully disassemble kegs each time when you clean it?

What is the cheap chemical to clean and sterilise kegs and fermenters, but without affecting the taste? I bought ChemClean, but it is quite expensive if I should use 50 g per 5 litres of water - if I half fill kegs, it is 100g, if I half-fill Apollo Pressure Fermenter, it is 150g...

Do you fully disassemble kegs each time when you clean it?

It is my first cleaning of the kegs and I wonder if I should disassemble them, i.e. remove posts and dip while cleaning. Do you always do it? Thanks

all grain queries for a beginner

I wonder how quality improves. Maybe I’m lucky for not feeling the difference, I definitely cannot say what aromas in my ales, except bitterness - it is usually tasty and carbonated, the rest I cannot tell much 😀

all grain queries for a beginner

Yeah, doesn’t look like it is much cost effective. And, so far, I don’t find it interesting making my recipes. Cool, I will stick to kits for now

Buying kegs, what else should I buy?

Has anyone seen this? Will give it a go if natural carbonation isn’t enough as I drank half of my ale from fermenter

all grain queries for a beginner

I also have a newbie question - is it much cheaper brewing from all grain vs kits? At the moment I start realising that I brewed 3 kits in about 4 weeks and will do 2 more by the end of this month. And, even more shocking, I did not drink even a tenth of what I made. So, about 100-105 litres of...

Buying kegs, what else should I buy?

Yes, it does suppress off flavours, to my knowledge, but people who tried my drinks found them great And thank you for suggestion about Spundy - you are right, it is worth having a backup option, I will set it up just below 25 psi (it is quite accurate - it shows 14-16 psi when I use 15 psi PRV).

Buying kegs, what else should I buy?

Thank you - I had to remind several things from school physics, I find brewing makes me remind a lot of things I studied long time ago, which is great. Carbonation depends on temperature, pressure and gas-liquid surface - the less temperature and the more the surface and pressure the faster the...

Buying kegs, what else should I buy?

If I read it correctly, 2.57 psi at around 20 Celsius is a moderate pressure. And the table gets to about 5 psi... I always hit 15 psi with natural carbonation in pressure fermenter while fermentation is happening, but only because I use 15 psi pressure release valve (PRV), I am confident I can...

Buying kegs, what else should I buy?

Thank you - it looks like there is not need for a floating dip I would think there is a lot of carbonation because I happens naturally inside the liquid and the pressure is high enough to activate pressure release valve - I installed 15 psi, but I can also have 10 and 25 psi Also thinking about...

Buying kegs, what else should I buy?

About floating dip - I am concerned that there will be still some sediments in the keg and floating dip may help with it. Maybe I am overly cautious? The less kit the better for me, so I won't buy it if it is redundant And another thought about carbonating - I am using pressure fermenter, so my...

Buying kegs, what else should I buy?

I intend to start storing my ales in 19 litre kegs to use my fermenter more often. I intend buying couple of kegs from The Malt Miller. What should I buy along with kegs so that I could serve from kegs? At the moment I think buying: floating beer keg dip tube with filter Spundy - 1 per keg and...

Is it easy to replace high pressure gauge on Micro Matic Regulator?

I broke high pressure gauge on Micro Matic Bottle Mounted CO2 Regulator from Malt Miller. I found the gauge on internet and wonder how easy it is to replace it - https://booth-dispensers.myshopify.com/products/3450502-nptr-micro-m-0-315-bar-psi-gauge Is it simply unscrewing the gauge and...

    Water hardness meter?

I would think water quality changes with time because the filter wears out - if it did not then I suspect water filter companies is a huge scam :?: Actually... I could use water that goes through water softener, it should stay the same provided I keep it full of salt
  19. Omega

    Water hardness meter?

Yes, I use built-in water filter, I cannot get unfiltered or untreated water in my house

    Water hardness meter?

I have a filter for drinking tap and water softener for showers and washing taps, so would expect the data from the local water company become quite incorrect in my case...
