    Lager bottling q's.

Perfect, thanks for the input. I went with 100g in the end, tried some from a half filled bottle and VERY pleased with it. It's my 4th brew and they seem to get better and better. Belgian triple next! Cheers, Mark.

    Lager bottling q's.

Hi Chaps, I have been brewing a Canadian blonde lager with s-23 yeast. Made to 20 litres, i put 1 & 1/2 packs of yeast in with 1kg of brew enhancer, it had 3 weeks at 12c and then a diacetyl rest for 3 days at 20c. Dropped temp to 4c over a few days and racked off. The fridge I have been using...

    sharing an fv

Perfect thanks. I can get another smaller fv perfect for larger batches of cider. Also use it for a fancy Belgian beer kit afterwards. Cheers, Mark.

    sharing an fv

Just a quick question. Can you share fv's between beer and cider brewing or can it taint the brew? Really enjoying the turbo cider at the moment! Cheers, Mark.

    EDME german style lager

Hi there, I'm still new to the home brewing game and just did my 4th batch. I used the EDME German style lager kit that I got for xmas. I thought I would mix it up a bit as my first brew used this kit and wasn't great. I ended up using a 20l brew, 850g light spraymalt and 300g granulated...

Racking off to a second FV

Thanks for the help. I had read somewhere to let it ferment for a week in 1st FV, then rack to the second FV for another week. This was to help it clear, so I read. So I have been leaving it in 2nd FV for a week before adding priming sugar and bottling, so I guess it shouldn't matter too much as...

Racking off to a second FV

Hi there, I'm pretty new to this brewing game and really enjoying it so far! I have got one fermenting bin with no tap and one screw top fermenting bin with a tap and a little bottler attachment. Now I have done 1 kit so far and have 2 more on the go now, but after I racked them off to the...

    Wilko Cerveza

Hi Abey, It's going well so far. Sorry to confuse you! I wasn't at all clear iny last message! I bought some s-28 lager yeast a while back, my post a few days back was to ask if it was worth using that yeast with sugar as I intended on buying some DME to use instead. For Xmas I got one...

    Wilko Cerveza

I will be trying my next batch Saturday hopefully. I have bought some light and some extra light spray malt (1kg each). Can you explain which would be best to use and why for the coopers kit I have? I'm not sure if the garage will be cool enough to use the lager yeast so I might just use the...

    Wilko Cerveza

Ah brilliant, thanks for the heads up. I will do just that, I'll try this to 20litres and normal yeast etc, see what happens. Thanks, Mark.

    Wilko Cerveza

Any updates on these cervea's? Will be starting one tomorrow hopefully. Not sure whether to use s-28 yeast and granulated sugar (all I have) or stick to the normal yeast and save the better stuff for when I can try with some DME. Still new to this so trying to learn quickly! Cheers, mark.

    New lager brewer in Wiltshire

Hi there, As an early xmas present from the wife I fancied a go at homebrew. I got a few bits and pieces from Wilko and thought I'd see how it went. I bought an EDME German style lager kit, which I added 1kg of granulated sugar too, I accidentally added a little bit too much water but I am...
