    SOLD: Two 19L Cornies

OK You can buy New AEB ones from The Malt Miller for 80 Quid. The ones I have have been fully refurbished including new O rings and poppets and a new silicone lid seal. Functionally they are perfect if a little battered cosmetically. As you can see they hold pressure, the bail bar is not...

Danstar Windsor Yeast Low Attenuation - Is this a bad thing?

Windsor is one of those yeast that benefits from big pitching rates. I use it in my imperial stout which Windsor took from 1.096 down to 1.018 which I make 81% attenuation. It fell from 1.096 to 1.023 in 3 days!! . . .Ok it then took another 10 days to get to 1.018, but for a big beer that was...

    Air ambulance

Mountain rescue service was (and still is), but not ambulance service. London was the first to get a Air Ambulance IIRC . . .and I think that was with European funding . . .and will like all the county services now be provided via Charities. Of course the medical personnel are provided and...

    water report

I don't forget it, I completely disregard it! If you are talking about making very minor changes then it may be acceptable, but even when using it at ~6ml in 60L of liquor I could detect the presence of it in the final beer, a pilsner. . . not so much as a taste, but it kicked my salivary...

Hardness is the level of Calcium and Magnesium in the water expressed as if it were all present as Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) Alkalinity is the level of carbonate (Bicarbonate and carbonate) in the water expressed as if it were all derived from calcium carbonate. The water companies express it...
