In which case, check out the Beer Kit Reviews section. If it's not there, perhaps you could write one if you brew it? :thumb:

    AIR LOCK NOT BUBBLING

Everyone who has ever used one on a bucket-type fermenter has had them not bubble. If you want the science... Different designs of airlock need different pressures to force the bubble out. One with more resistance might just be over the threshold where it's easier for the gas to escape from...

    Remortgage on an inherited house?

Without a doubt! They already know your family so that has to be a good thing. :thumb:

    Sainsburys Kilner Lager ?

That's because nobody bought it when they realised it was the same size as all the rest...

    Remortgage on an inherited house?

I would say you probably want both the solicitor and FA. The solicitor to make sure that the legalities of the contracts with the care home can be met and the FA to get a good deal for the mortgage and/or any other investments WRT the remainder of the estate. Both should afford you a freebie...

    Remortgage on an inherited house?

A good few assumptions there... So if the home are providing care up front with payment due on death, they will have some kind of legal claim on your Nan's estate. The executor of her will will have to settle all debts from the estate before then passing the remainder on to the beneficiaries...

    Craft Brewers - Pembrokeshire

Does anyone know of any decent breweries that satisfy the following conditions: 1) Must sell polypins direct to the public 2) Most be either: a) Down at "the pigs snout" bit of Wales or b) Easy to reach from the M4 as I could pick it up en route Booked a holiday down that way and...

    Anyone Tried

And the rest! Kit beer just doesn't get good until: 2 weeks in primary 2 weeks to carbonate and 3-4 weeks to condition Drink it in 10 days from pitching and you'll probably never brew again... (not because it'll harm you in any other way than the rapid expulsion of the contents of your...

    Kombucha

No, not a long lost Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, a sort of sour/lambic barely-fermented tea from New Zealand that an ex-pat school friend introduced me to via facebook. The idea is that you make up a good strongish black tea, add whatever flavourings you fancy, berries, spices and such. Then...

    Champagne yeast for cider?

Yup. Twice a failure. On the yeast part at any rate - never a bother with the bacteria! I *really* need to get a package up to you GA. I've got beer and cider and yeast all with your name on...

    Champagne yeast for cider?

No need. It's the lactobacillus that makes it stinky. Just use a champagne yeast to ferment then add the O.R. to inoculate with the bacteria. :thumb: Saves faffing around growing up the O.R. yeast culture.

    Back to the tins...

Start 'em young! My daughter helps with all sorts, doughing in, weighing grain and hops, fetching and carrying... ...can wait until she's big enough and strong enough to do the washing down... She's already started the "Daddy, can I taste it?" She gets to dip a finger (de-chocolated...

    Champagne yeast for cider?

Some = most. If you want good honest dry cider, use a bog standard champers yeast, I use youngs. If you want West Country stylee chuck in the dregs of a bottle of old Rosie near the end of the ferment and see what happens. :thumb:

    BIAB question

I BIAB on the hob Gaz. Dead easy, just a length of silicone hose like the stuff that Vossy sells attached to a quarter-turn full-bore tap via a brass elbow and a bit of 15mm copper. Just enough to go from the tap to the FV and a half turn round the bottom. You will want to get that pot up a...

    Back to the tins...

Tell me about it! My big one is just a smidge older than yours and she will not shut up! Even in her sleep! Takes after her mother I reckon... ;) The wee man is brilliant, he's got the same curious look that his big sister always had so that bodes well. I'm looking forward to the alcohol...
