    Home brew for vegetarians

All of which is interesting, most notably because lots of commercial beers (and probably most wines) are fined with isinglass and you'll never see it on the ingredients list. Why? Because it's not an ingredient technically. The point being that you put it in, then take it out again so it...

    Wanted: CO2 Reg

Ideally a triple with all the gauges as that's what my dispense system will ultimately be based on. But if anyone has a cheap single with two gauges that would be awesome. That way I can keg the beers I have coming ready this week and serve two with a gas line t-piece as they don't need...

    BIAB timings

There is nothing wrong with a wee BIAB sparge! I don't just because I'm really lazy and I can't be bothered reworking all my mash volumes!!

    BIAB timings

You need at least 90 mins for a BIAB. I sometimes push it to 3 hours if I'm not getting the gravity I want... Normally it's 90 + 10 mins mashout though.

    Prescott Ales - Hill Climb

Went to the local 'spoons for the first time for a burger a lunchtime and the had Hill Climb on. "Nice lunchtime beer," thinks I, "at only 3.8%". To be honest, I wasn't ready for this. I was expecting a pretty standard, easy going pale, a thin-ish, thirst-quenching but, you know, a bit...

    brewer for the day!

If anyone fancies popping round mine with fifty quid you can pull my bag... ...oh wait, that didn't sound quite right...

    Beer Duty down by 1p

Oh I've been there before! I'm an old fart before my time, I don't "go drinking" anymore (or rather, I didn't until I moved to the village and found that my local is just terrific, I like going for a few beers now!) and I'm only vaguely ashamed to admit that I've made my excuses in the past...

    Beer Duty down by 1p

<devils_advocate> Welcome to the market economy. Your town is clearly populated by the sort of person who doesn't mind paying (or actively likes to pay) silly money for mediocre beer in mediocre pubs. They are like that because there isn't enough market to make a different establishment...

    Is your local still trading?

    Beer Duty down by 1p

Can't say I'm disappointed with my tax cuts...

    Beer Duty down by 1p

If it's retained by the pub or small brewer then that's fine by me...

    Beersmith 2

I use the medium for most things unless I'm doing something that needs masses of malt. Light is just too light IMO.

And if ripples in the CMB were too much...

I really don't know why it's so funny. It just really, really is!

Try to get your head round this in the pub...

On every level and in every way, yes, it is bonkers.

And if ripples in the CMB were too much...

Three of us have been crying with laughter in the office at this: [youtube:29rkzw3f]Mj4BFvwwj-o[/youtube:29rkzw3f] 3rd trombonist from the front on the right hand side.
