    Hello from NI!

We need a bigger phone box (or a Tardis), welcome to the forum and ask away.

    New Guy - Belfast area

Hi Ovskip, East Belfast here. There's a few on here from the city and several more across N.I. but the forum in general is very friendly and help with the most trivial problems. There's also 2 brewing clubs that I know of, one in Brewbot on the Ormeau Road and one run by the House of Home brew...

    Weyermann Carafa 3 substitute

If it's just the colour you need, you could try adding the malt during sparging only.

    3 Tap Kegerator

I've seen the 3 and 4 faucet beer towers from China pretty cheap. Tried Googling them with no luck, a fridge could easily be picked up from Gumtree for £25. Think I'd build my own tbh.

    Refractometer

Think it was this one although I paid £12 delivered. Instructions were useless and it came decently boxed and with a dropper (I bought extra at time of ordering.) It took around 3 weeks to arrive...

    Refractometer

I bought one a few months ago from China but I'm still unsure what I'm supposed to do with it. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

    Camra,,, wtf?

I know you have a gripe but shouldn't your gripe be directed at a CAMRA forum or CAMRA members? There is a loose attenuation for CAMRA on these forums but it seems more for publicity than any solution. I don't think here is a place for a solution. Good luck in your quest however.

    R.I.P Barry Norman

He won't remember  Another part of my youth gone, slowly but surely I'm getting old.

    Camra,,, wtf?

I'm not a member of Camra but shouldn't your gripe be elsewhere?

    Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

I asked about this on Hotukdeals as I promised my son the game. It was on offer 2 months ago as a pre order from Smyths for £22.99 but today it looks like Amazon Prime next day delivery is the best option (sign up for the free month of prime and then cancel before it ends.) Banjo Kazooie is...

    All grain stout advice

My first stout was a chocolate stout but I found it too bitter/ choclatey for my liking. I've done many stouts since and it may have been me that suggested the acid malt. Yes it does give a twang but my stouts haven't used roast barley or chocolate since. The acid malt gives the twang but there...

One for the old Atari gamers.

ZX81 ZX Spectrum Amiga 500 Amiga 1200 Consoles I've had most. Master System was the first but my "kids" (21 is the youngest) have taken the mantle and the have a PS4 and XBox One. Good thing is I get the hand me downs like XBox 360's and PS3's but like you Graz I don't have time. In saying...

    Pico boiler dies.

I was given a Peco Boiler by fellow forumite Niman but my missus hated me brewing indoors so I had to store everything outside under a tarpaulin. Unfortunately just after XMas, the element packed in. It's not an expensive fix, a new element costs £15 but if it's less than a year old I...

    Fermentation fridge wanted!

When you go to check out a fridge, bring a FV and airlock to make sure it fits, also just bide your time and wait on the right fridge at the right price. It took me 3 months to get my larder fridge, every time I phoned up I was too slow but I got there in the end. I think we've convinced you...

    Fermentation fridge wanted!

The Inkbird leads are pretty long, you won't need to extend. I'm not sure of the difference, the Inkbird will still do its job and meet whatever temperature you set it at whether you get a freezer or fridge. Just avoid fridges with ice compartments, it's not that they don't work but the ice...

    Fermentation fridge wanted!

As my room rarely drops below 18° I didn't feel the need for a heater but as you say it's easy to do. The Inkbird does all the work for you so no complicated wiring, just plug the heater into the heating socket of the Inkbird and the fridge into the cooling socket. Set your temperature and...

    Fermentation fridge wanted!

I just passed the wire through the gap in the door so no drilling. I could imagine you could also put a heater in without drilling. The Inkbird does all the work. I actually used the Inkbird to control my boiler for mashing until I bought a dedicated mashtun boiler. It depends on your living...

    Fermentation fridge wanted!

Rich, I kept checking Gumtree and Freecycle and bided my time. Eventually I got a larder fridge for £25. I didn't do any electrics, just plugged in an Inkbird (discount code available on this forum) and put the sensor in through the door. You only really need heating if your ambient room...

Need yeast quick! Here are my options...

I'd have just pitched my beer onto the trub of the last one. Done this several times with no problems. The only caveat is if your doing a clone.

    Free Speech

I got banned from the Betfair forum last week after 14 years of posting and I knew I was wrong. I mentioned the racist word. I must admit I tested the mods many times but I always knew how to get my point across without being offensive. This time I knew I was wrong and was subsequently banned...
