    What are you drinking tonight.

Just coming to the end of the cider keg but I need to stretch it out a bit, the gingery beer has a bit of time to wait yet, I learnt not to rush it with the last batch. One last glass of raspberry and lime cider before bed and hopefully it'll stretch over the weekend - fingers crossed:D

    Has temperature data been changed?

Yes, no doubt it did. About 5 miles west of me the cliffs are covered in lava that has come from a volcano. It will have polluted the whole area but it did it as part of nature. We generate pollution and we know pretty well just what we're doing - and those of us that do it are too greedy, they...

    Has temperature data been changed?

Yes, we have built our civilisations using fossil fuels. Luckily, we found out just what they did to us. Hasn't yet stopped many people from profiteering with them, though, and with profiteering on pollutants comes....

    Has temperature data been changed?

Regardless of what mankind does, or doesn't, do to keep pollution at bay. Climate change will still occur but it won't be as bad as it could be if man makes the effort to maintain the planet, IMO. Steven Hawking reckons humanity has only a hundred years left on earth.

    What are you drinking tonight.

Think I'll have a glass of cider. There's probably enough left to keep me out of trouble until the ginger beer gets old enough to be drinkable.

Rise of the 'vegetable butcher' as Brits want their veg expertly chopped.

Us spud butchers are doing pretty well. It should be noted that spuds are vegetables as well and thankfully I'm a spud, or something relatively like a spud, butcher. I grow them, I dig them out, I wash them and I boil them up for as long as it takes to turn them into edible tatties. I'll maybe...

    A lot of CO2 bulbs

That sounds good, Dutto. You kegged a brew before it had stopped, and it worked for you. Perhaps it'll do the same for me. Your other suggestion makes me think, carbonate it and effectively let it look after itself. That will probably be the next test point, if kegging it before it's stopped...

    A lot of CO2 bulbs

Thanks, Dutto, and you're right, I do have a leak - on two kegs. They both do it the same way, between the gas bulb and its mounting point. You say that you use a 10l . I've got a couple of 23l kegs and at present one of them has a bit of brew in it. Hopefully, the CO2 will do what I think you...

    Beer Advent

It'll take him a wee while to drink the box, though!!! :nerd:

    What are you drinking tonight.

Just going to pour a wee glass of raspberry and lime cider. Pretty tasty stuff, but it's a bit more powerful than expected. Too much sugar given to feed too much yeast. Next time I'll be a bit more sensible. acheers.

    A lot of CO2 bulbs

Ran out of CO2 yesterday so a valve fitted to the keg last night. The foot pump is lying beside the kegs and the brew comes out nicely - at the moment. If I can get a week or so out of it, it'll work for me because half of it will now get bottled instead of kegged. If I don't get a week out of...

    A lot of CO2 bulbs

Thanks, guys. From what you say it might be a better idea to use the tyre pump for the last half of the keg. That will halve the amount of CO2 and from what you say, if I pumped it the whole way then it wouldn't taste perfect to the end.

    A lot of CO2 bulbs

Hi all, At the moment I'm using a few more CO2 bulbs than expected and it's a bit of a pain to keep pressure on the keg. One or two of my neighbours have suggested putting a car tyre valve on the keg and pumping it up with a car tyre pump. What do folk think about that? Is it feasible?

Hello from wet and windy Shetland

Hello everybody, Up here in Shetland prices are high and what's on offer is limited. That's probably the main reason that I've started brewing my own. I did some ginger beer the other week and really enjoyed it. At the moment I've got some cider that I'm slurping. Put a bit of cinnamon in when...
