    Biab to grainfather differences?

I chose the GF because I have limited space, 'er in doors won't let me brew in the kitchen and so I have a shed and the garden patio under a canopy. The GF requires less than two square meters of floor space. As I have mentioned before in other posts, the single biggest improvement on my beer...

    Corny keg post size

My cornies have two different size posts, large ones are 32mm and smaller are 19mm. As an aside, the post diameters are different and if you get the in and out connects mixed up they can stick and be very difficult to separate. The gas (in) have a little notch on the nut hexagon. Hop pole just erected on my allotment. Four metre tall Pole is scrap handrail from the skip at work, top plate is half inch ply and chandlers rope for them to climb. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Hop plants /rhizomez

My Prima Donna and Cascade have been placed in their final positions after being heeled in since November. I have mine round a "Maypole" with six ropes going to the top of a four metre hop pole. How are you chaps growing yours? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How did you get your user name.?

Where abouts Chippy? Kirkby Lonsdale is one of our favourites. HTMBO cannot mutter anything without me hearing, so she calls me this. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Hop plants /rhizomez

Thanks for that, my thinking is that Prima Donna being a dwarf and suggested to grow up to three metres. If I have a four metre pole only the Cascade will reach the top, I could then leave a drop string for those two plants? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Hop plants /rhizomez

Slightly off theme and forum but how do you growers train the hops? I have bought Prima Donna(Dwarf Variety) and Cascade from Willingham. I am thinking a "Maypole" set up, a centre pole with six ropes and the plants in a circle around it. What do you growers think? Sent from my iPad using...

    setting up for ag...advice please

I started with a DIY jobbie, mash tun from a cool box, boiler from heavy duty plastic bin with a copper coil chiller. All in all cost about 15% the price of a GF. The first brew went really well but hell, what a faff. I can only brew outside, have no room other than for kegs, gas and...

    Wine Box?

I keep HTBOs' wine in a corny keg. Purge the keg with co2 the keep just enough pressure to push the wine through a party tap. The co2 pressure is so low none is dissolved, you could rack this up of course of you want a slightly aerated blush for instance. This, so she says, keeps wine better...

Anybody use a water filter rather than bottled water?

Would these filters work in a beer filter. I have a beer filter that's more or less redundant and thought I could use it to filter water. http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=filter%20beer&PN=Keg%2dBeer%2dFilter%2dThe%2dHome%2dBrew%2dShop%2dUK%2ehtml#SID=200 Sent from my...

What did father Christmas bring you beer geeks

A video would be a great help. Batteries are in the correct way, there is some kind of vibration but it's very weak. The beer is carbonated but a weaker head than I would like. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Leon, what happens? Got mine, stirred it in the glass for more than 10 seconds and nothing happens. Expected a "boil over". Looks like it's faulty? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
