    My Sauternes Style Dessert Wine

I got them from here. http://www.hamstead-brewing-centre.co.uk/itm00718.htm I had to have them delivered which cost about £6. They take a normal sized cork - although I didn't think they would when they turned up :hmm: It was a real pain trying to find them!

    My Sauternes Style Dessert Wine

I seriously doubt I'll be able to leave it that long, one will probably be opened around the New Year - just to check...!

    My Sauternes Style Dessert Wine

As some may remember I recently embarked on a couple of experiments to try to recreate a Sauternes style homebrew wine, but without the price tag of a real one. My initial 'Raisin Wine' (which I spoke about on here) ended in an abject failure, however I did find an excellent website all about...

    Dried Elderflower Recipe?

Thanks for your reply. Looks like an interesting recipe and seeing as I've not make a sparkling wine before, I'll give it a go. :thumb: My 200g of Elderflowers is gonna last for a lot of brews if 25g of them makes a gallon! Thanks Abeyptfc Darren

    Dried Elderflower Recipe?

I've got hold of quite a lot of dried Elderflowers. I was planning on adding a small amount (1tsp) of dried Elderflowers into a gallon of WOW to see if it makes an interesting addition to the basic recipe. However I've ended up with 200g of dried Elderflowers so I've got enough to do an...

Thanks Rick. I'm curious as to what you think yours is like come Christmas as I'm not sure how long I ought to leave mine before opening a bottle. Do you think a couple of months ought to do it?

Well I've just bottled my mead and here's a couple of photos. It looks and smells great although I'll try and leave it alone for a few months to let it settle down. Thanks for the recipe! :thumb:

I've just bottled this and after back sweetening with more Vimto, it turned out at 4.25%. It's absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for the recipe! :drink:

    Cheeky Vimto

Just made up a batch of this a moment ago. I used 75cl of Vimto and 4 litres of Apple Juice. I boiled the Vimto as recommended The chucked it all into the FV. O.G was measured at 1.034 which, when it ferments out to c.994, will give me about 5% APV. I'll then PS and Campden, then back...

I want to make a Sauternes style wine....

Thanks for looking over the recipe guys. Well I've made it up and after consulting a few books (CJJ Berry) I decided to demijohn it immediately after just half a day in the fermenting bucket. No doubt this'll bite me on the a** but I thought I'd give try. Anyway, I ended up using 2.2Kgs of...

I want to make a Sauternes style wine....

Basically I want to have a crack at making a Sauternes style wine. For those that aren't aware, Sauternes is a sweet white wine whose grapes have been infected by Noble Rot. http://www.oddbins.com/product-details/ ... rnes-375cl Other than being just another sweet wine, Sauternes has a...

    Request for a Mead recipe

I'll pop on a few more photos when I rack the Mead, I guess that'll be in a month - maybe two. I pitched the yeast this afternoon and it's already bubbling like mad. Thank you for the recipe Tony. :thumb:
