    BOC Suregas regulator.

It looks like a female nut on your regulator, take your reg and gas tank down to your local fyfes and ask for an adaptor for co2 to argon iirc.

    Co2 Mix question

Co2 to carbonate the keg, mixed gas for serving, you need to carbonate the keg and once at the desired level of carb then vent the keg and hook up the mixed.

    Grainfather Clean

I'd also make sure you aren't letting anything down the overflow, the recirc should be pulling most grain particles back up that get thru the bottom plate. I control the flow rate to a rate that prevents any overflow, this will limit the amount of grain getting near the element, it should never...

    Sludge Bucket

The auto siphon comes with a cap over the end which keeps out large bits, it won't keep out fine yeast sediment particles, quite a few on here wrap muslin or similar around the end to filter the finer particles. Good practice in racking and not being greedy trying to get every last drop out is...

    GDPR

This is EU governance not UK so it's out of our hands. This goes a long way further than just replying to an email and you can bet your last dollar that the bloodsucking scum that are claims specialists won't be to long in plaguing us with TV adverts about suing businesses or people who fail to...

    Small wine bottles

There not designed to take pressure, 1/4 bottles of prosecco would be what you want if going down that route. I would be more inclined to use a small swing top bottle like a 330ml grolsch. I do use the wine 1/4 bottles when bottling wine for whatever amount is left over that doesn't quite fill...

Fluctuating mineral levels - water profile

If you want to nail every Brew to an exact consistency then testing each batch of water can get expensive, especially if you listen to the likes of Palmer and buy one of his "testing kits". One route that quite a few go down is using a mineral water like Tesco ashbeck which will give consistent...

    Grainfather connect upgrade.

Edging at a yes, TBH the function I find most useful is the timer to start it heating. Just set temp and timer and it will be up to temp for you.

    Grainfather connect upgrade.

I changed mine, the auto power throttling and bluetooth is nice to have but it isn't essential. The one major gripe i have with the connect box is the power socket into the bottom of it, if you happen to catch the power lead at all with your foot then you risk ripping the socket out of the...

    Dilution calculation

There are plenty of online calculators out there to give you the exact ml you need to add, just google abv dilution calculator. You can play around with a calculator easier to get the exact numbers you want easier rather than working it out, you aren't far away with how to go about it though.

2 x poor carbonation, same yeast

Have the bottles been stored at around a constant 20c ? Bottles stored on a floor will be cooler than ones up high, temp at night can still fluctuate quite a bit to.

Came across this last night, if anyone is in any doubt about drinking and driving this should give you a reality check.

New Grainfather user, what should I brew first?

If you don't have any form of temp control for lager fermentations i would go with an ale or stout, just depends really on what you like to drink, there is no point making something that you don't like just for the sake of making it, 3 or 4kg of base malt and 1/2 kg of either crystal or roasted...

    GrainFather v other systems.

One advantage the GF has over all other self contained systems is the other attachments that can be fitted to it, if someone wants to use distilled water whether for partial mineral dilution or for there entire mash/sparge liqor then with the GF they have that option.

    Cider Novice

There are a few Vids up on YouTube if IRC for home made presses using the likes of a car Jack, certainly worth a look even just for ideas. Don't immediately juice the apples, let them sit a week or two first to ensure that they are as juicy and sweet as possible, if some of the trees are cider...

Pectolase, Campden tablets and cider yeast, if you want a very dry cider you could maybe try champagne yeast.

    Cider Novice

You will most likely have all you need except for some form of press to juice the apples with. There are a few Vids up on YouTube from folk who have made home made presses. I would not go splashing out on equipment that might only get 1 use.
