On a pale ale, out of date 1.5kg pouch, with 1kg light dme added. Probably / should have added some dry hops. Bittering comes through, malty. Head holding up.

First real job was in a fish cake factory many moons ago

Too much fat and or water will cause them to break up when fish cakes are fried. If you are using left over mash, add some flour, to bind it. When making fresh wants to be cold potato with no added milk or butter, just season the spuds.

Agreed, life just got in the way.

Added hops at 1.010, but took 2 weeks to bottle. Goose IPA kit. Pleasant enough brew, just lacks the urge to open another.

Bittering flavour is there its the loss of the Simcoe dry hop aromas and sweet hop hit that's gone unfortunately.
