    What plate chiller

Quotes 20 mins for 21 litres, so about 40 for 4 litres which is too long for me, the 125 kw sounds better I think

    What plate chiller

I want to find a quicker way of cooling, I’m currently brewing 40 litres but can do about 50 litres in the kettle. I’m probably favouring the 125 kw one

    What plate chiller

I currently use a self built immersion chiller, to cool 40-50 litres takes about 25 minutes. Looking to get a plate chiller, I’ve seen these 2 https://www.geterbrewed.com/brewferm-wortchiller-platemodel-ss-36-plates/ Brewferm Wortchiller Platemodel SS (36 plates) http STAINLESS STEEL PLATE...

    Complete BIAB Setup

Hi, I’m still interested in the bench capper and flask, and possibly the fermenter, I live Darlington so could pick up fairly soon. If you decide to split it up just keep me in mind. Thanks

    BK split

I’m looking to brew 2 La Chouffe clone’s. I have a 70L boil kettle and an old 35 litre boil kettle that just needs an element adding (which I have a spare one). I’m going to do one mash (60 L mash tun), and split the wort into 2 kettles. I aim to get 38L out of the larger BK and 19 L out of the...

    Boil kettle chimney

Ah I didn’t realise this would be a problem I assumed the steam would pass into the water and just heat the water. Maybe I need to look at longer ducting and run it a few metres to the garage door

    Boil kettle chimney

Had a look at his set up and similar to what I had in mind, hadn’t given much thought to boil over so will have to consider that more. Any thoughts of the steam passing into cold water water rather than outside

    Boil kettle chimney

I currently brew in the garage using electric, I have no windows in the garage and only have the garage door for ventilation. My HLT and mash tun is at one side of the garage and the BK near the garage door, I don’t have pumps at the moment but have ordered some. I want to keep everything...

    Mashing Out

I drain some of the wort from the mash and heat in a large pan on the stove to boiling and re-add it back to the mash to increase the temperature. I also factor a late addition of boiling water into my mash/sparge volumes. I use Mash Infusion, Strike Water, and Rest Schedule Calculator on...

    Off beer

I think it is, it’s classed as HDPE and advertised as suitable for food stuff, but maybe it is this. I normally use the standard 5 gallon fermenters and I have never had a problem with them, I have used the blue barrel once before with a 7.5 abc beer with no ill effect

    Off beer

Hello, I’m new to the forum, I’ve used the site many times for information but only recently joined. I’m after some advice on a recent beer I’ve done. It has a vinegary taste, just trying to work out where it went wrong. It was AG mainly pale malt, with some crystal and roasted barley...

Pilot Brewery for sale. 100 litre

Hi nice set up, I am in the process of improving my current set up, I am moving from gravity fed to using pumps. I notice in your picture the pump you look like you have is a Novax I had been looking at these but read that you can not pump boiling water through them. I had subsequently been...
