Hi it will definately go in. Only problem would be that it may be too long and snag against the side. Only trial and error will tell you for sure. They work great in Corny Kegs. I have one in all my eleven Corny's

Possibly Cask Widge floats might do the trick. They are slender. It all depends on the internal width of the growler.

Hi cant say for sure but I would think that the beer is already carbonated prior to filling. Failing that you could add a little priming sugar to your refill.

You could just add a little sugar now to up the % alcohol lost due to too much water. It might slightly alter the taste. Not too sure.
