What are you drinking tonight 2020.

I'm on the Citra IPA now. It's a bit lairy at 6.3% but I will forgive it that. It's only sensible I suppose to get it supped whilst it's at it's vibrant fruity self :) Would be a shame to let the hoppiness disappear. That's what I'll tell the missus in the morning.

Ditch's stout mate, straight out of the FV, uncarbed, unconditioned, unchilled LOL. I did it once just to see what the fuss was about. It's coopers stout, brewed short to 4 gallon instead of 5. 1KG of dark spray malt and a mug of brown (possibly demerara) sugar. He sups it straight out of the FV...

    The Coronavirus thread.

I'm with you Rod, it's the lack of acknowledgement from some people, that they may be spreading it, or a lack of their care thereof, that drives me mental. They are only thinking selfishly, or ignorantly, or rashly. It still does my nut in LOL :) I've still got a faint glimmer of hope that...

    The Coronavirus thread.

I don't watch the news either anymore. If anything important is announced, I'll be sent text after text anyway. It's crazy around my way as well, people out in groups everywhere. Obviously not families as it's groups of teenage lads and lasses. It's annoying because I love to go...

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Just had a brain meltingly hot lamb tikka vindaloo with all the works. Don't tell anyone, but the missus poured me a can of her cold Carling w/lemonade top and I necked it.

    Home bar help!!

I must be a tightarse. If I wanted Fosters and Guinness, I'd spent 400 or 500 quid on cans of Fosters and Guinness and bang em in the fridge as and when, rather than buy the keg set-up LOL Good luck, hope you get it sorted and please post a pic of the finished job, we all love a bit of bar envy :)

    Best plastic fv bins.

I've never really seen the obsession with airlocks bubbling either. Not that I'd recommend it, but a pal brews his kit bitter in a kitchen bin, with a towel over the top held in place with a bungy cord. When I saw it, I was gobsmacked, but he told me he's never had any problems.

What Youtube Vlogs/Channels are you watching?

I'm a fan of the UFC and am subscribed to a few related channels. Chael Sonnen (former UFC fighter) MMA On Point (News, features etc) Joe Rogan (UFC Commentator, his podcast guests can be hit or miss, but he has some massive names on there sometimes) The UFC is actually returning on the 9th...

What Youtube Vlogs/Channels are you watching?

I've been through stuff like that when I was in the navy (I'm sounding like Uncle Albert now) Genuinely scared once. I was a submariner and went through one of them storms that makes the national news. Pitching, rolling, corkscrewing and being thrown off your feet, thrown out of bed from 5ft...

What is the best beer you have brewed

I'd imagine I'm 50 or 60 recipes deep with the grainfather. Probably the same with BIAB (I just half the recipe grain bill) And about 10 or so simple SMaSH BIAB. My favourite was a BIAB knock up, bit of this, bit of that, userupperer. All I can say for sure is that it was cascade and chinook...

    "Conditioning"

I have 1 litre pop bottles as a full brew bottling choice and they are perfectly fine. IMHO Nottingham ale yeast, available from Wilkos, is a great yeast as well, works great at lower temps if you have a cool room in the house. 17/18 ish degrees.

    What did you brew today?

Run out of grain and the weather is gonna be too warm for me soon, so just a kit for me this afternoon. The last 'brew' I'll do for about 4 or 5 months. Brewferm Belgium Dubbel. I'm hoping it'll be conditioned nicely by Christmas, we'll see :)

Chilling beer in a pressure barrel

A frozen pint glass can help a little bit.

You're stuck in quarantine with only one group / composer.

Music is timeless dude. My favourite albums were recorded before I was born and I'm 51 LOL.

All Grain v Extract what would I gain?

I'd encourage anyone to start BIAB. I do everything from Kits to full on AG in the Grainfather, but BIAB is my favourite. Why? I like making small 10L brews. I like experimenting with hops and I like to sometimes invent a brew without even thinking of using a recipe builder. It's very easy to do...

    Pudding!

I'm not normally one for a pudding, but tonight we had an old school recipe apple crumble and custard. I couldn't stop ploughing through it, I was like a killer white in the middle of a feeding frenzy :)

Poll - What is your expectation of surviving Covid-19 should you get infected

"even bet he's against injecting yourself with Vim and squirtying Toilet Duck up you jacksy." I just shouted the wife out of the kitchen to read that. Double LOL

    Youngs Harvest yorkshire bitter

Apologies if this is teaching anyone to suck eggs, but.... I find it incredibly easy to add the spray malt into a stock pot, add cold water. Turn on heat, slowly whisk/stir as heat comes up, most will dissolve quite quickly, a few small lumps that remain will disappear as the heat and stirring...
