    PINTER beer system

Why do any of us Homebrew at all? I didn’t before I had a Pinter, it was my gateway to AG, now I do both because it’s more fun than just cracking open a bottle or a can.

    PINTER beer system

I was lucky and got in early so I still get all my kits for £12. Also it saves time, I can get a brew started in a little over half an hour, then just have to manage the fermentation in terms of temperature and cold crashing, you don’t have the whole hot side to deal with (which with the way...

    2 week Helles

Was thinking of having a go at AG with my old Pinter 1 as I now have a Pinter 2 and the old one will soon be out of warranty, it could prove to be a useful fermenting and dispensing system for small batches.

    PINTER beer system

Have used a Pinter 1 for a year and enjoyed some great beers. Has led me to learn more and also brew AG. Purchased a Pinter 2 and the improvement are impressive. Stays carbonated throughout, no releasing CO2 to dispense, hop oils and far superior build quality. Very happy I purchased one. Allows...

    British homebrew podcasts/YouTube channels

By the mash tun is great, but as noted is no longer posting new content. Couldn’t get on with The Hop Addition, sorry. I know this going off topic but there are some great US shows out there. BeerSmith Homebrewing, Basic Brewing, plus they have website and video channel. Brülosophy and...

Recommend books for all grain brewing.

Agreed, don’t seem to be many books covering BIAB that I have found, though Simple Homebrewing by Denny Conn and DrewBeecham covers it and a whole lot more. It sits out the wheat from the chaff regards what odd important and what isn’t.

Recommend books for all grain brewing.

Started with John Palmer which is everything you could ever need but perhaps too deep for a beginner. Liked Charlie Papazian’s The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, though rather folksy in places & perhaps dated. One I have found that no one else has mentioned and covers everything from basics to...

    Juniper berries

Currently brewing a Finnish Rye Juniper Sahti Ale from the book ‘Brew Better Beer’ by Emma Christensen. It contains quite a lot of Juniper berries 6 tbsps to the gallon. Taste good going into the secondary.

    Airlock not coping in fermentation

Had exactly the same with a Finnish Sahti I am currently brewing. Absolutely sorted, and fermentation back to normal in 24 hours. This is the technique the Brooklyn Brewshop recommends when starting all fermentations. Could help to avoid beer explosion and the wrath of OIC Home Command.

    Klarstein Maischfest Profile?

I am going to try the Anvil Foundry equipment profile in BeerSmith and see how that works.

    Klarstein Maischfest and Mashing

I think the more expensive GrainFathers have PID temperature control. ‘PID temperature controllers work using a formula to calculate the difference between the desired temperature setpoint and current process temperature, then predicts how much power to use in subsequent process cycles to ensure...

    "Beer Masters" Amazon Prime videos

Enjoyed watching it. I am relatively new to brewing so it is interesting to see different brews by different people and the challenges they face. At the end of the day it’s a light Bake Off like format.

    Hello from Stirlingshire

Would love to support such a group, would give me an excuse to brew bigger batches and improve my game.

    Hello from Stirlingshire

Hi all I live in Stirling, not far from the Torbrex Inn. I am an aeronautical engineer, and relatively new to this brewing lark. Started off with a Pinter (this was my gateway to this hobby, and have enjoyed some good brews) but rapidly embraced all-grain. Have been brewing small batches as...

    Sous-vide controlled mash tun?

Have only used mine to warm up the water for mashing so far, time to experiment.

    Sous-vide controlled mash tun?

Great podcast and accompanying article on this technique at BIAZB. Have a sous vide and also like to make the occasional small batch brew so will give it a go. Looks like the ideal way to hit the mash temperature.

    Klarstein Maischfest Profile?

Hi all, new to the forum and relatively new to home brewing. Just purchased a 2nd hand Maishfeist and wondered how similar it is to the Anvil Forge 240v. The manual for the former is far more comprehensive and credible, plus profiles already exist on brewing software. Any thoughts?
