What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Having a first try of my 8.3% chocolate bourbon Stout at 6 weeks. Not a lot of head, but the carbonation is spot on. Full, thick mouthfeel and sweet, with a nice bourbon hit and smells of chocolate. Very pleased. My intention is to leave until Xmas. Hope I can leave it alone!

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Should've taken photo, but I've had a 3 week old pimped Mad Millie Lager Kit, the 740ml bottle with about a quarter yeast in it (final bottling). It's a nice summery drink, with low bitterness. Just as well I added DME, Munich and Cascade to it, otherwise it'd be insipid fizzy water. Very good...

Beginners Guide to Water Treatment (plus links to more advanced water treatment in post #1)

Hi Steve Received this detail just now. With my alkalinity strip I says ph 7.0, with alkalinity 80ppm. Got to figure out now what it means for porters (my next brew) , Stouts, IPA etc.

    Dry Voss Kveik from Lallemand

It was 11g of CML Voss added to 10l Imperial Stout and fermentation started at 40°C. I did have 70g dark chocolate and 250g Lactose added to the boil. 🤔 Thought it could be fat from the chocolate but it was 95% Cocoa. The fragments of yeast didn't feel fatty, more like a soft biscuit. I've not...

    AMyd666 Brewday

25.5 x 740ml bottles of 5.5% pimped Mad Millie Lager Kit with Munich Malt, 500g DME and Cascade hops completed today. I like my new Brew2bottle bucket with sprung little bottler. Less drippy than the one that came with my coopers FV that doesn't have a spring fitted. Smelled so good today I was...

    Dry Voss Kveik from Lallemand

Hello David. If you don't mind looking at the quoted thread below, have you ever come across this with kveik or any other yeast before and know what causes it?

F***sake Clint. I've not eaten since midday and then I read this post. I'm drooling like that dog from that film Turner and Hooch! 😂

    Cml voss

Two and half weeks into fermentation and a hazy pale it is, even with a Britewort tab at the last 10 mins of the boil. Perhaps a cold crash in the fridge once bottled (like Drunkula says). It's getting bottled in the next day or two. Will report back.

Czech Budvar nicely chilled after a day at the beach. I'd love to brew this, but don't have a brew fridge ☹️

    AMyd666 Brewday

Right that's it out to the garage to cool down at 14 days old. All that gurgling meant something; it's now at 1.006! The kit said it'd be ready at 1.008. Bottle in a couple of days, then on to a Porter of my own devising.
