    WOW advice needed.

Another noob question :) I went to Wilkos to pick a few things up today and I stupidly forgot to get Campden tablets :( How vital is it that I add one before I rack n clear? Can I get away with leaving it out?

    Grainfather Review

Evening all :) So I was lucky enough to get a trial of the Grainfather and I thought I'd share my experience with it here for anyone who's still on the fence. My normal brewing gear is pretty ghetto, just a big plastic boiler, home made cool box mash tun, and a big pot for the sparge...

    WOW advice needed.

Cheers Chippy :) How long should I leave the stabiliser for before adding finings?

    WOW advice needed.

First attempt at making wine and looking for a few pointers. I put it all together a few weeks ago and it's still bubbling away, albeit a lot slower than it was. I decided to take a gravity reading today and it's currently at 0.98 ish and still very murky looking in the DJ. Should I be...

    No Rinse Sanitiser

I'm afraid that I also rinse out bottles on bottling day after using Star San as I don't yet have a bottle tree for draining. Would I be ok using bottles straight from the Star San bucket provided I give them a good shake out? I fear the foam! :D

    Brewnight: Easy rose WOW

Of course, it's been a while since I watched a wine video and totally forgot about degassing! 2 DJ's it is :)

    Brewnight: Easy rose WOW

Will do :) Another quick question. I'll be using 1 gallon DJ's, do I need to rack off to a 2nd one for clearing etc before bottling or can it all be done in the one DJ?

    Brewnight: Easy rose WOW

Cheers fellas, might nip down to wilkos tomorrow and give it a go :)

    Brewnight: Easy rose WOW

Quick question guys, how long on average does it take for a recipe like this to be ready to drink?

WYeast 3787 - Trappist High Gravity

I used this in a Tripel and ended up with a six inch krausen, so yeah, leave plenty of head space!

    Hops wasted in a bag?

    Hoppy obviously, stupid auto correct!

    Hops wasted in a bag?

I always use bags now as the one time I didn't the tap on my boiler got badly clogged. I'm drinking a Black IPA now and its more than happy enough for me. Bags FTW :D

    Brewdog - DIYDog

I don't understand the negativity of this thread I'm afraid. Mikkeller puts a few recipes in a book for £20 and no one bats an eyelid. Brewdog give hundreds away for free and get pelters!

    Grainfather cooling question.

Exactly the answer I was hoping for, cheers mate!

    Grainfather cooling question.

Hey all, very excited here as I'm getting the trial GF delivered tomorrow! Just had a quick question regarding the CF chiller and hoped someone could help me out. Does it come ready to attach to a hose using standard Hose Lock connections or will I need to buy something to get it up and...

    Brewdog - DIYDog

I suspect that if they decided to sell these recipes in a glossy 300 page book for £30 folk woulda been moaning also. Personally I'm very grateful for the unexpected but very welcome gift from them :)

Imperial BLIPA - No krausen, little Co2

I did a smoked porter recently with an SG of 1.090, 2 packs of safale 05 got it down to 1.014. I imagine it mighta struggled with just the one pack.

    Flaked oats.

My next recipe has loads of flaked oats in it, I'm just using the cheapo rolled oats from Aldi and hoping for the best :)

    Greg Hughes Black IPA?

I've done this a few times now (just brewed a fresh batch on Wednesday) and it's probably the nicest beer I've made, better than any BIPA I've tried with maybe the exception of Beavertown Black Betty :)
