    Brewing with Motueka

I've used Motueka quite a lot and I'd say less is more with this hop. It is very lemony and can be overpowering. Does really well on it's own in a single hop lager, or as a late hop in a simple Summer ale, but looking back through my old recipes, does go quite well with Cascade or other NZ hops...

Which movie(s) have you watched recently?

I watched The Revenant again recently too when it was on terestrial. I'd forgotten just how brutal it was. The bear scene!! Great performances from DiCaprio and Tom. Really enjoyed it.

Which movie(s) have you watched recently?

Same here! Just typed "Kajaki" in to YouTube to watch the trailer and as soon as it came up, I remebered straight away without watching the trailer that I watched this film last year without knowing what it was called. When it first started it was just on in the background after flicking through...

    Mangrove Jacks M76

I made a Vienna lager with 50/50 Pilsner/Vienna malt. 22L at 1050. I split this batch in to two 11L brews and pitched one with a packet of M76 Bavarian Lager yeast and the other with a packet of M84 Bohemian Lager yeast. The yeasts were hydrated and then both pitched and fermented at 10C, with...

    Laptop recommendations.

3 years ago I bought a reconditioned Dell Inspiron from europc.co.uk and it's still going strong. I think they specialise in refurbished Dell & HP laptops and desktops. Spec of mine seems to be similar to what you are looking for 15" screen, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive & 256GB SSD. Would recommend...

    Dry hopping (once or twice???)

There's a lot of debate about this, but I find if you dry hop for too long then it can start to taste grassy or vegetal. You only really need to dry hop for a couple of days to get the full hop extraction. I try not to leave them in for more than 5 or 6 days. 50-60g of cascade should be plenty...

Which movie(s) have you watched recently?

Just watched Young Adult with Charlize Theron. Fom 2011, but not dated at all. Really enjoyed it. She plays the vulnerable, lovable, absolutely heartless bitch really well.

The 'Recommend me a TV series' thread

We've started watching The Kominsky Method. It wasn't what I was expecting. A few laughs, but it's quite dark and slow to get going.

    Problem with brew fridge

I have the same problem in winter. I use a brew belt and a tubular heater both connected to the same temperature controller. Does the trick.

The 'Recommend me a TV series' thread

If you need a good belly laugh and god knows we all do right now, check out Moonbase 8. It's a right old chuckle. Not sure what side it's on, cos we watched it on the VPN, but it's about a NASA training camp in the Arizona desert. Can't wait for the second season. See the link to the trailer...

    Disgusting scenes in Washington

I haven't bought a newspaper for 10 years. UK paparazzi and journalists are the scum of the earth! They are a dying breed, I am happy to say. The next generation get all their news online from a variety of sources and newspapers are becoming and will become a thing of the past. Good riddance!
