At that ABV at home is best!

This is normally great but made the mistake of preceding it with an IPA so it now is comparable to a Biryani after a Madras!

    Also middling and weak!

Never had this before so bought one. Thought it ought to go in a steiner type glass. Stupidly I had forgotten it is a wheat beer but the taste made me sit up and investigate and then it tasted fine!

    Now this with five hops!

Never used to be that keen on this but as Bitter/Amber seems to be becoming rarer got a couple in and am quite enjoying it!

    Dark Rock kits

Good point! Tends to suggest it's genuine!

    Dark Rock kits

Thanks and funny you should raise that as I was beginning to wonder about their objectivity. Anyway as I have not seen that one will check it out.

    Dark Rock kits

Thanks and it might though on reviews that seems to fare the worst in this series. Problem is taste is subjective.

    Dark Rock kits

Thanks Dowden and Soupdragon. Presumably awesome because of full flavour not bitterness? I don't understand why the Aussie one was so bitter with only two days of dry hopping so am wary of a similar experience.

    Dark Rock kits

Apologies for going back to an old thread but was thinking of doing another DR Session kit other than Aussie Gold which was far too bitter for me. I used the recommended enhancer and restricted the dry hops to the last two days. The weight of the hops was 80gms so can anyone tell me the amount...

Last one was a few minutes ago so not guzzling! This one is a souvenir from Scotland. A summer ale but we can dream!

In the lodge and the hatches are battened down. Starting with a Fursty Ferret. Not bad as it has a combination of sweet maltiness with a touch of bitterness.

    This needs no explanation!

Courage Directors one of the better easily available malty ones in my view. The image through the glass is David Gilmour at Pompeii which is worth a listen.

Back in Wales out tonight as will be stuck in tomorrow! By a real fire quaffing real ale from a real brewery's sandblasted glass. Wye Valley HPA which is on great form!u

Had one of these earlier on and not bad for a weak one. Followed it with a Hobgoblin 5% IPA. If they upped the flavour and strength of the former it would be better than the latter! That is of course assuming Carlsberg Marstons don't scrap Hobgoblin along with the Wychwood brewery!

Gregg Wallace hits out at 'handful' of accusers

Yes but I don't think he was after them!

And now a foreign one not brewed in the UK under licence and wrecked in the process!

A good standby for not a lot of money from Lidl.
