How long do you condition for?

My last brew was a super hoppy neipa using English esb, based on reading and advice I kegged it after 1 week in the primary. I was shocked to see fermentation was over on day 3 especially as it had an og 1058. Anyway It spent a week in the keg carbing and now I'm drinking it, it's hazy as hell...

    Corny Keg newbie advice please!

it can be a bit tricky pouring beer from cornies without good temp and gas control. Putting cornies in the fridge the day before will effect the carbonation levels, which will effect the pour. My advice is to buy a 6kg co2 bottle and a decent regulator. If poss get a big enough chest freezer to...

    Cleaning your lines

I cleaned my lines for the first time in a year a month back. They didn't need it. If anything only the taps needed cleaning. My advice keep your beer flowing and don't fuss. Give it 6 months then run some hot water through them all, dismantle the taps and clean. You'll be surprised how little...

    What a faff

My tap water is 22C ATM. I thought my thermometer was knackered! Best I could get into the fv was 23.5, pitched anyway under the pretence that it should be below 20c before the yeast gets going.

Shame we didn’t keep a clean sheet, I think we may be vulnerable at the back. But we look great going forward, the best I’ve ever witnessed. So refreshing to see how them young lads handled the foul play also.

    Off flavour

I have a feeling that I used vwp on the fv for this brew. Anyway I sent a bottle off so let's see what's made of it. I had a friend round who had tasted my beers before that had this taste, he said he couldn't taste it... and that he thought it was really nice. The flavour is definitely not as...

    Off flavour

hey all, I've just tasted my latest beer, and it has an off flavour which I have had a few times in the past. I've never managed to pinpoint the problem. I believe it's either chlorine based, yeast stress, or temp fluctuations endused. I may be wrong. I ended up with 4 bottles after kegging, if...

Celotex thickness for fermentation cupboard in outbuilding

100mm celotex will give you excellent insulation, if I were building a cupboard I would definitely use 100mm!
