    Kveik

Just a thought for anyone who wants to get into drying, I have a dehydrator which I don't use any more.. the heating element doesn't work on it, but my guess is it would be easy to replace/repair. If anyone wants it, I'll gladly post at cost. The fan works fine. It's this: Buffalo 10 Tray...

    Beer Can Chicken

I use this sauce for my rotisserie chicken and it is literally the best chicken you've ever tried. No reason you couldn't use it for beercan chicken too. I don't add the 3 tsp of salt though, as I want to live! 1 tsp is enough...

    Using Spent Grain

I like this dog biscuit recipe: https://www.deschutesbrewery.com/dogs-life-ruff-spent-grain-dog-treats/ I've got a dehydrator and am going to try drying the grains next brewday to use as flour. Will report back. I tried once but the temp was too low so they went sour. There are tons of recipes...

Just dry or did you make up a starter first? I'm setting up a heated brewing area and can't wait to try out the kveik!

    Inkbird itc-308

I just got mine yesterday and am currently using it in my kegerator as the damned thing keeps freezing. I put it to 5.5 C +/- 2C so that the compressor doesn't have to turn on and off all the time, is that ok or should I reduce the differential do you think?

Drinks You Wouldn't Admit to Drinking

I love a pint of guinness snakebite. What can I say, you can take the girl out of Essex.

    New to brewing from kent

Welcome in. You don't 'need' any of those things, but want is a different matter altogether. And wait till you get into using corny kegs instead of bottles! This can be an expensive hobby, but easily justified when you make the best beer you've ever had.

    Bland Beer

Have you done a water analysis on your supply? I'd suggest starting there and seeing what it comes up with. If your water is out, the beer will be out.

    10-15 litre fermenter

That's a great idea. I think they sell those in tesco/sainsbury etc too.

    10-15 litre fermenter

There are 12L speidel fermenters. @MyQul does 10L brews I think too, not sure what he uses. I use a 10L food grade bucket with an airlock stuck in the top.

    BIAB cream ale experiment

Oh yeah and I did a 2 hour mash and a 90 min boil as I had time.

    BIAB cream ale experiment

I ended up having to go to Tesco to get water anyway, so threw a box of tesco value cornflakes into the mix instead of some of the sugar. It smelt weird mashing, but good boiling. Hopefully it'll work out!

    Liquid yeast survival

I had a packet of liquid yeast sent with an order a while back. It was a freebie, so I didn't realise it was in the box, which I opened about a week after receiving. It's perfectly fine. I did a starter with it just to be sure though.

    HalsteadMills Brews

That potato brew looks similar to pulque which is potentially the most awful thing I've ever tasted! I hope it's better than it looks! :)
