    +1 on the chlorine. I've made a batch like that once, years ago. I would have sworn that I'd rinsed the chlorine away but apparently not enough. I mean I RINSED!! I never use chlorine based cleaners/sterilisers any more.

    I heat it up first with a full kettle of hot water. Once I've put the mash in then I wrap it in a reflective insulating bag. It only drops a degree or so, if it drops more I put a kettle of hot water in to warm it back up.

    Can't help you but I all grain brew with my cygnet tea urn and it works brilliantly. I use a coolbox for the mash.

    Don't see any reason why not. I am a total heathen and just pitch my new batch directly into the FV the last batch came out of. Best to check that the first one is ok though, as if not you've got 2 spoiled batches. I generally throw away or save half or more of the 'yeast cake' of the original...

    I learnt this week that if you splash diluted StarSan in enormous amounts in your eye, it doesn't hurt! Yay! (Handle on my open 5 litre bottle snapped when I picked it up before you ask).

    I wouldn't worry, that isn't a high enough temperature to kill the yeast. It should be fine. Try to keep the temp a little lower if possible, but if not, relax and have a beer! We all freak out over our first brews!

    It wouldn't hurt to either put them on a cement or cold tile floor if you can, or wrap them with a wet towel and aim a fan at them. The only problem is you might get some off flavours from the higher temperature (I reckon pretty unlikely though).

    What about just sticking it in the fridge (turned off) with a couple of frozen 2L bottles of water in the short term? Also, highly recommend the Inkbird 308. £30ish and super easy to use.

    Yeah there's loads of nutrition in it. Very high in protein and vitamins (and lots of fibre).
