    Geordie Mild Ale

I didn't realise you were either! I usually use Brouwland in Belgium. Same postage costs....but I will check out thehomebrewcompany as never thought about Ireland. I don't even look at French suppliers as their kits are either overpriced or 5 litre full grain kits neither of which interest...

    Geordie Mild Ale

Thanks. I will indeed eventually get a some sachets....but working what I have as ordering here is expensive (for me) so I prefer to save up and order £100 (or euros) of stuff in one go, which will be in a few months. So in the meantime looking at getting the best out of the kits with what I have.

    Geordie Mild Ale

So yesterday I bottled and kegged my two fermenting brews. Both tasting good. Clearly I have caught the bug again as I am currently heating a can of Geordie Mild LME. I shall be brewing this short to 20 litres rather than 23 litres following some research. I was considering just mixing my last...

    Pubs in Kendal serving food

To be fair the Spoons real ale depends on the person running the cellar. I was a (short-lived) manager in a spoons and I ran the cask ales. Was always up to scratch. Would never eat in one (aside from the steaks) having worked there though! But they do serve a purpose. I miss Black Sheep was...

    Low initial starting gravity

Thanks for that...tasted the sample and it was blooming lovely. A real coffee flavoured stout. I mean I am sure its not full mash homebrew like a lot of people here. But hey im proud so far. :beer1:

    Low initial starting gravity

Good evening all! Just tested the gravity of a Youngs Harvest Stout I set off on the 9th March. The initial gravity was 1015......which I seemed to feel was very low: maybe just me. Ten days later it is at 1011. Making it currently at 0.53% abv. Should I be worried? Did I maybe misread the...

How many litres of home brew have you made 2023.

Around 35 litres. You put me all to shame!

    Cooper's Dark Ale

All the neighbouring countries have suppliers just not France. Odd given to growth in popularity if microbreweries and craft beer here.

    Sanytol to sanitise

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had used the sanytol disinfectant (usually clothes etc) for sanitising equipment. I have litres of it here (dont ask)

    Re-Introduction

Lille is great for a pub crawl. I'll look into that one. That's the one thing I miss is finding 4-5%ers that have body aren't too sweet: struggle here.

    Re-Introduction

Hello my friend! I shall look into that site then. Always useful to know. I have been using Brouwland for my rare orders or people visiting. I must I admit I am no beer loyalist...I like to try all different breweries. But there is a couple of good ones up here.

    Cooper's Dark Ale

Good morning all...just set off a Cooper's Dark Ale. Sadly lost a pint or two while filling due to a knackered rubber seal, so quickly decanted into a new vessel. Brewed short to 20 litres in the end with 1kg of Better Brew brewing sugar. Shall see what this gives. Have three more kits (Youngs...
