My terrier is much the same. His prey drive is way too high, and he'd end up lost, or dead. Plus, no one with a nervous dog needs another dog running up into their space. "Oh, but he's friendly" they cry! "Well we're f*cking not".
More tax on petrol/diesel cars might. You don't need to ban something to make it less desirable. If the government can't afford incentives, then they could always continue to disincentivise ICE motors.
If Evri have admitted that it's lost, then Kegland have to process a refund. If they don't, then just go through your bank with your evidence and file a chargeback claim.
I've looked at that hydrometer funnily enough. I don't brew that many high gravity beers anyway, but the dilution idea is a great one.
I have a refractometer that I use on brew days, and it works very well for me. Just fancied something that gave a digital reading. I might take a pint on one...
Yeah, it can make you a bit gassy. It's not really appropriate to style, and apart from the styles that Samale has listed, it just doesn't taste great.
I used to be an exponent of cold steeping until I actually started putting roasted/darker grain in the mash. It's purely anecdotal, but the last few I've brewed in this way have tasted far richer and foam seems far more stable too.
So I'm wanting another gadget. I'm not going to spend silly money on Antor Paar stuff (as cool as it looks), but can anyone recommend a digital refractometer? Seen a few Milwaukee ones go for decent prices second hand, but wouldn't be adverse to one of the many Chinese clones that are out there...
