    fermzilla brew advice

I tend to mix the syrups in a bucket with hot water, then add them to cold water in the Zilla, so I'm not trying to get 23 litres of liquid through the Zilla lid... Also helps to mix the extract evenly, I find...

    Old cars big money.

They lost money on every one they sold!! Still a great technical tour de force- in fact I'm looking for one as a tow-behind our motorhome....

    Hot wort to fermenter?

I think they recommend that you pressure test them at 2 years... I've got one that's about 4 years old, and I still pressure ferment at 10psi with no issue. I DO pressure test every 6 months or so, just fill up with water and pressurise (to 25psi in my case) and good to go. Also tests the...

    Co2 prices

I get mine from the gas suppliers to my local, "The Bubble Boys"- last bottle was £25, for 6.3kg, which lasts me forever- unless I have a fault, or do summat stupid- neither of which are unheard of...!!! (Gave me a bottle to start off with, too!!)

    Water Chemistry

Hi all, Happy Sunday! Beginning my AG journey in Spain soon- already do AG in UK, but just bought a Brewster Beacon to do full volume, no sparge IPAs and hop forward "lagers". Could someone please cast an eye over this mineral water and tell me if I need to add any salts, or whether it'd be...

Where abouts are you? I'm near Málaga, and struggling to find nice beer apart from in town itself. Have to order Petrichor from Mahou online to get anything like nice!!

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

This, bought from supermarket at Gare du Nord. Too warm, very "flavourful", but a bit synthetic... Better than 1664 tho....

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

I agree- used to be a nice, hop forward pint. Now more malty mush like so many dumbed-down for the masses ales.....

    D'OH moment

Hi, and happy BH Monday, if you're in the UK!! Just realised, after about 3 years of brewing (kits and AG) in my "new" shed (well, I call it a brew shed, SWMBO calls it a conservatory...) that the water on tap in there is post my (salt) water softener. Schoolboy error, I know, but have I...
