    Aerated water for brew

I did read a very similar report. If removing the little filter does the job then I'll be happy but I'm more curious now as to the actual reason when the only change is the new tap/aerator Cheers Tom

    Aerated water for brew

As far as I know scum is all about the carbonates. We have to take a water filter away on holiday so we can make a decent brew as the bottled water in Greece usually has quite a high mineral content. Maybe the aeration of tap water changes the ph enough to have an effect on the mineral...

    Aerated water for brew

No, not that kind of brew. A cup of tea...... As we live in a relatively soft water area we've never suffered from the dreaded tea scum. We've recently had a new kitchen sink tap fitted and it has one of those aerater things on it and we now get tea scum 😕 I know they can change the ph of the...

Party tap barb hose to push fit

I would if it was long enough. It's only 3cm long so there's absolutely nothing spare to trim 😞 I've just dug out my old Dalex tap and given it a good soak in VWP. I'll set that up for this evening and see how I get along with it Cheers Tom

Party tap barb hose to push fit

Thanks Carl. And guess which bit of spare line I dumped ages ago? 😞 I've got an old Dalex tap in a box, don't know why I switched to party taps really. I'll give it a thorough clean and see if I've still got all the old reducers. I should have seeing as I kept the tap itself 🤞 Cheers Tom

Party tap barb hose to push fit

Hi all Seems one of my beer lines has sprung a leak. I've tracked it down to the final piece of hose that pushes on to the barb of the party tap. I'm not sure without getting some daylight on it tomorrow what diameter the small length of pipe is that goes from the barb to the push fit. Does...
