Tell us about your regular/house brews

Great thread Rory. I’m only on AG batch 18 so not much repeating so far although these are the ones I’m mostly experimenting with. Foxbat’s house bitter - batch 3 fermenting currently - great recipe! English hopped IPA’s -Fuggles and EKG from the garden plus some with Jester/Olicana/Harlequin...

Ants all over my hop plant

Same as Tess, washing up liquid diluted in a spray sorts aphids out for me. Or ladybirds as PH mentioned thumb.

    Help!

As Clint said unless he wants to bottle condition instead of kegging and keep a sessions worth in the fridge?

    Oath of allegiance

It’s UK advertising and tourism boost on a global scale as no one does pomp and ceremony like we do. Not an accountant though so no idea what the ROI would be. Plus we have a rather messy mixed bag of triumph and epic fails in our history but this is all part of Great Britain’s identity...

    What razor do you use.

Merkur 34C with Feather blades, tried Derby and Astra blades but Feather are best for me. Bristle brush and Taylors of Bond Street soap. So glad I switched from expensive multi blade options.

Mead at less than 40p a bottle.

Ok so I’m not the most patient brewer with experimental brews and will need to have an early try to see how it’s going. I can leave 5 bottles to condition but how long should I leave it before cracking the first bottle?

Mead at less than 40p a bottle.

Thank you Jan, I think the MJ M05 sounds like the way to go and US05 defo one to avoid. I’ll be sure to research the fermentation stage care further via the link as it sounds like the opposite of the usual beer routine and is the key to a good result. I hadn’t considered additional flavour...
