I have heard it referred to as Brew in a Basket, and no a filter is not necessarily a bag or basket which contains the grain and is removed at the end of the mash. A plain filter on the other hand, the mash still has to be lautered.

It seems odd that you don't have sulphate on your water report, is it listed as SO4?
You will need sulphate content so failing that I would send a sample for analysis to Ward Laboratories.

I think it is best to start on bottles, kegging is a lot less hassle in the long run but there is a lot to sort out and other equipment and expense, so I would suggest you leave that until you decide if homebrewing is for you.
