The cable tie was only to keep the ends in place ish with the weight of the hoses as they pull it a bit when tested. I also found it easier to gaffa tape the end to the device being used to roll around until I had a couple of rolls and after that it was fairly easy. If you can aquire a helper...

You won't need it once coiled as I found you can stretch or compress it as you need, mine was a bit close together once I had fought with the copper but I could ease it out by pulling tip and bottom. Just try and only roll once as the more you bend the stiffer it gets

Yes Neil and the the parts require less thinking with 10mm. I think the coil was 2 or 3 quid more but you save this when you get the off the shelf bits for the 10 to 15 compression bits and toolstations own hose connectors at 69p each. Toolstation was cheaper than screwfix for all bits.

Made a cooler myself last weekend 10m copper coil from toolstation, wrapped round a fence paint sprayer. 10mm to 15mm copper adapter and then take the nut and olive off the 15mm side and attach hose tap connector.

    Brewfather question re water.

I'm going to get my water ready for a brewday hopefully tomorrow, I've got everything set up in the app. It currently shows my water additives in mash and sparge. I use a mixture of RO and tap and then chemical up as needed in a bucket mixing it all together. In the interests of making life...

1st go at Citra SMaSH with US-05

Yes turned out awesome, very light with a hint of lemon. I've not much experience with yeasts as this was only my second all grain brew. The only thing I noticed was the Krauzen held for a lot longer but went in the end.

3rd Brew day and this one went to plan!!

Total game changer, no issues with the wort going through the grain bed and this allowed me to fine tune the pump output to balance the wort circulation.

    Gravity Reading from a Fermzilla?

On this last brew I've used earth magnets wrapped in clingfilm and sanitised, put in the dry hop bag and then suspended at the top of the all rounder. Might be worth a try?

    Gravity Reading from a Fermzilla?

Get another one of the screw cap ball lock valves like the ones on the zilla, short line 50cm or so with two ball locks on. Then screw the new ball lock valve onto a 500ml pop bottle. Pressure ferment and the use that pressure to dispense. I also do the reverse to fine my beer. Mix with...

3rd Brew day and this one went to plan!!

After a bit of a disaster 2nd brew day, where the pump broke and ended up with some of the grain bill overflowing the basket and blocking up the bazooka, i fitted a new pump, this time goijg for a Vevor. I decided late in the day that I'd have a brewday as I didn't have much on. So my grain...

    What to Brew Next ??

Yes I know I need more malt, the question was what sort to malt to make up the 4 kg with to make up something nice. Apparently endavour will give a Berry/ wild berry flavour

    What to Brew Next ??

Yes that was my ask, what to buy to make something a bit different to the smash

    What to Brew Next ??

Hi all. I've got ½ a kilo of Maris Otter Pale ale malt, a sachet of S-04 Yeast and 100 grammes of Endavour hops pellets left. I've just done a Citra SMaSH which is conditioning. Any suggestions of what to do with my left overs to make a 19l batch. I'd like something hoppy but perhaps a bit...

1st go at Citra SMaSH with US-05

With a bit of help from Google and a bit of guess work, I had a brewday last week doing a citra smash. Simple Maris otter and 100g citra. Currently fermenting with safale US-05. Not used this yeast before that I'm aware of but think it looks good and the brew fridge smells amazing. 60 of the...
