    To old to move on

I was tapped up to return to an IT job having retired early. I'm nearly 60. It depends what your skillset/skill shortage is. They are clearly scraping the barrel asking me I only agreed to do 3 days they really need 5.

    Death by cycle.

I'm afraid we live in a world of numpties pedestrian/cyclist/car driver it matters not. numpties are everywhere. Here's the thing - it doesn't matter if you are 'in the right' do you want to be in an incident? I think this law brings parity. But lets be honest the highway code gives a hierarchy...

    Death by cycle.

I suspect not, after all a car on average is upwards of 1000kg. A cyclist + ebike - 125kg , or an e scooter 100kg you also don't hear of extremists using a bike as a weapon, a car or van yes. so I think that may relate to how serious it is. I fully concede a lot of minor injuries could add up...

    Death by cycle.

Clearly I'm not a fan of that. I have home insurance that covers for personal liability. its already damn hard to fit a decent set of mudguards to my bike. That will drive people towards e-scooters. (good thing or not? - you decide) I have to be honest from a safety point of view an impact at...

    Death by cycle.

As a cyclist I don't have issues with this law. behave like a turnip - face the consequences. As I have an ebike with a speedo I find the shared paths rarely wide or safe enough to do over 15 mph. If I want to go faster on any sort of bike it's on the road for me.** Now if there can only be...

    Vegans

yup it's bizarre. three or 4 times a year when the weather is dead calm a smell comes over from the sewage treatment plant. Should read the forecast for when those conditions are due and ask everyone in the the area to hold it in for a day or so or not flush?

    Vegans

complain to a farmer about their muckspreaking and you could find an trailer of it parked outside your house.

    Vegans

i'd possibly reply ' I have the same problem with the smell of vegan food making us feel sick. However I have learnt to read the weather forecast and when its a fine day and the wind is blowing from your garden to mine I go out incase I end up smelling of nut roast" P.S. I was here before you...

Should I brew a Flanders Red?

I love the duchess too. if it's bottle conditioned perhaps start it off with some dregs from a couple of bottles. Duchess is more vinegary than boon that I use when making a boon based sour. https://www.milkthefunk.com/wiki/Main_Page should give you a bit more of a pointer.

    Electric cars.

Information from a firefighter's perspective. I always thought that carpark at luton was a cheaply built POS. He also explains why it looked like an EV fire.

    Boon in major supermarkets

I Managed to get a marriage parfait from the hop-in brecon. I can now crack on with my VC when the supplies arrive. I did notice thought that dried wheat extract was out of stock in the malt miller and the home brew shop, for a weizendopplebock which is supposed to be my next brew after the sour. ☹️

    Game changer

thats what I do the 330 duvel style bottles are pretty uniform. a different color cap per beer batch makes identification super easy unless you are colour blind.

    Game changer

I dishwash my bottles then rinse twice and nuke in oven. then a used once bottle cap sprayed in starsan. On bottling day I only need to rinse with cap on the outside incase of spider web and dip the uncapped end in starsan. .... for example..... (after pic of beer with no head retention issues.)...

Brewing giant Heineken will reopen 62 pubs that were closed in recent years and invest £39m in refurbishing hundreds of sites across the UK.

The only chain I rate thesedays apart from JDW (as you can get some good craft cans, punk ,leffe , erdinger etc) would be the head of steam. brewdog used to be awesomely great but are very hit and miss thesedays although you can usually get a vault city there for £6,000,000. Marsdons reasonable...

    Boon in major supermarkets

Hi all, I'm looking to do a vault city style fruity sour and I usually use the bottom of a bottle of boon oude gueze. I have one bottle but normally use the dregs from two. Have any of you seen boon in any major supermarket? - I used to get it in waitrose but the nearest is 50 miles away.
