    Co2 Regulator Help

I am after a bit of advice on Co2 regulators. I am building a kegerator and am after a combination of primary and secondary regulators to give me good control over setting individual pressures. I have contacted Norm on eBay but he is away until the 2nd July and after brewing this weekend...

    AG49 Vermont IPA

Thanks for the feedback Steve, I will go for that on the water treatment. I have a alkalinity test kit coming from Amazon today based on your water treatment post, so will see whether it comes before I start.

    AG49 Vermont IPA

Turns out I have quite a lot in the freezer! I should probably use up some of these if possible!

    Water analysis and treatment

You often can get a report from your supplier, I can get mine from their website without contacting them. Won't be as good as one you pay for obviously but probably a good starting point.

    Kegerator Approved!

Will have a think about it, it might be a stretch to get SWMBO to agree to have the co2 outside the fridge.

    Kegerator Approved!

Would a magnetic drip tray actually hold the weight of a full pint? Got any examples? A drip tray that is in stock at a reasonable price is something I am struggling to find.

    Kegerator Approved!

After thinking that I would have a fridge within a week of the original post, I finally picked one up last week. I already bought the kegs and sourced co2, but no taps, lines or regulator/manifold yet, which will have to wait until pay day. Here it is in its current state. Kegs...

    Faucet help

Not got any personal experience, but these are the ones I am going to buy for my upcoming kegerator. There are a few people using them who have good things to say about them. Check out this thread - http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=69031

    AG#5 - Founders Breakfast Stout (Clone'ish)

Less than 4hrs after pitching my starter fermentation is underway. Getting about 3 bubbles a second and some wort through my blowoff.

    AG#5 - Founders Breakfast Stout (Clone'ish)

Brew number 5. Not for the first time I have made a mistake that I feel probably changes the beer enough to demote it from "clone" to "clone-ish"! Last time was my first brew, I thought the colour rating of the crystal was in Lovibond when it was in EBC which lead to a much darker beer than...

    Rotating sparge arm problem

Think the rotating aspect of a sparge arm is just a gimmick. I would just make sure that you have an inch of water above your grain and continue as you are. Its all about getting water into the tun without it channelling the bed, nothing else really.

What do you make your starters in?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but this is DME right? Making a high gravity stout at the weekend and will be my first time making a starter.

    Kegerator Approved!

Gas will be CO2. I think for peace of mind and simplicity I will go for the gas all in JG. Any reasons not to use barbs for the beer lines.

    Kegerator Approved!

Ok, I've been looking at this some more. Few more questions: Regulator... Any suggestions? The one that seems popular (paraweld?) seems quite bulky and possibly a bit hard to dial in accurately? Struggling with connections. I was planning on going with barb connections everywhere and cutting...

Element controller for self built boiler

Have you tried using the boiler as it is? Is it too vigorous of a boil? I built my own boiler out of 2 Wilko kettle elements and a 33 litre plastic bucket and use both elements to get to the boil, then turn one off and the boil ferocity is just right. My PID would allow me to control the...
