    HDPE Cube.

Yeah that's what I've got, I've washed it a few times but still a feint hint of soap. Will keep washing it, bit I have a feeling smell may always be there. Cheers.

    HDPE Cube.

You might be right, maybe just need to buy a new one. Cheers.

    HDPE Cube.

Hi all. Hope this finds you well. Hoping someone on here can help. I am as going to try No chill for my next brew and managed to find a HDPE bottle in my hut that is big enough. Only thing is that it was power washer soap/detergent that was in it before, and there is a slight smell of this in...

    Buying Beer Online

I have been using Flavourly for a couple of months, first Box was 19.90 for 20 craft beers, then if you sign up for subscribe and save each box is 26.90 for 20 craft beers, you also get a snack and magazine. You can choose how regularly you want your box, most are collaboration beers but are ok...

    No Chill in Fermentor.

Yeah I would always drain using a sieve or similar. Thanks for your info.

    No Chill in Fermentor.

Thanks for the info, I do just cool in the sink currently, still takes a while though, and was just wanting to try something different.

    No Chill in Fermentor.

Thanks. I just do 5 litre brews, so if I just take it off the heat and drain straight into the FV and cover with some clingfilm instead of the lid, then leave it until pitching temperature, then pitch or would I need to move it to another vessel, which I don't have just now.

    No Chill in Fermentor.

Hi there, hope you are all keeping safe in these strange times. I have been looking at trying a no Chill Brewday. Has anyone tried this straight into the fermentation vessel, if so did you just pour it straight in, and did you put the lid and airlock on the fermenter. What kind of results did...

    Hops for 50p

Hi all, for anyone on the Edinburgh area, The Brewstore have a box of bagged hops, that they are selling for 50p a bag or 4 for £1.50, the only thing is they are not 100% sure which hop they are. They think a British hop and probably challenger. Posting just in case anyone wants to grab some.

    Beer crates, Edinburgh

Hi all, just thought I would post to say that there is a Polish shop near Edinburgh College in Granton, that has Beer crates outside, that I think they would be willing to let anyone take, I have already had 2 from them. The shop is called Stodola.

    Flavour boosts or Essences

Hi again. Was thinking of maybe adding some flavour to my next brew. I know you can get Mangrove jack's boosts, but they seem rather expensive for the size of bottle. Does anyone have any recommendations please? Would normal flavouring work? Thanks in advance.

    Campden Tablets

Also, i would imagine adding a tiny bit more than usual, will do no harm to myself, or more importantly the brew.

    Campden Tablets

    Thanks.

    Campden Tablets

Thanks guys, so not much at all then. Would the Campden powders you can buy maybe work better, I assume it is the same stuff, and just add a pinch of that, rather than trying to break tablets into tiny bits. Also would mean not have to taste dog fart flavoured sherbet

    Campden Tablets

Hi there, looking for a bit of advise. I am thinking of starting to add a portion of a Campden Tablet to my water before starting a brew, to see if I can improve them a bit. I only do 5 litres at a time, and I've read that half a tablet will be enough for up to 23 litres or so. So my question...

Adnams Ghost Ship 5l mini kegs

Thanks, had to buy one of those with the last one, an old speckled hen, but hopefully won't need one with this.

Adnams Ghost Ship 5l mini kegs

Ok thanks, was asking as the last one I bought was an old speckled hen, had to break the bung to get it off, keg itself is reusable, but these ones sound alot easier.

Adnams Ghost Ship 5l mini kegs

I was going to purchase one of these, either from Tesco if I go or Amazon, same price. Are the bungs on these reusable, or do you need to be a new one. Cheers.

    Brew your own kits.

Thanks for all the replies folks, looks like I probably could split and store a kit, I think I will try a brewferm kit and see how it goes. Cheers.
