    Safale us-05 yeast

    Brewed my beer yesterday with safale us-05 yeast, first time I have used it. Only a very thin crust has appeared on top of the wort (soon to be beer) in the fermentor. Does this not generate a bubbly/fluffy foam? Should I be concerned.

    Hops Compatibility

    Thanks, so far so good. The mash went really well in the cool box, I only dropped .5°C from the 64°C starting temperature. The wort looked really good, and tasted nice and sweet so that's a good sign.

    Bottling experiment ... priming rates

    I have found that 1/2tsp of sugar / bottle works for me. Not overly carbonated but gives a satisfying hiss when you remove the bottle top.
