Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

My order from Biermarket.de has just arrived almost exactly a week after ordering so while not as fast as web-bier it's still impressive. The beer (30 bottles) was very, very well packed. Although the very heavy package had taken a knock on one corner in transit (that also dented the internal...

    Fermentation Vessel

Usually a standard 23l plastic Fv with a tap. Broke a demijohn yesterday while starting an experimental small batch (3l) of Nettle "beer" so drilled a hole for an airlock in the cap of an empty 5l mineral water bottle, makes a good fv for small batches and as there are always plenty available...

Almost time to prime (second attempt)

Interested in the reference to adding tea: I'm planning to re-create 40 year old family beer recipe which involves adding a pot of tea (as well as hops)...........

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Not the easiest bottles I've de-labelled but a good soak, hot water and a non-stick plastic pan scourer did the trick. (Should have some more to de-label later this evening :beer1:

    Hello from the Cambridgeshire fens!

Hi, checked the SG on the Young's Stout last night, still needs time to finish fermenting but had a swig out of the trial jar and I think it's going to be a good one!

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Unless I've misunderstood the shipping appears to be more expensive than that...it's 15 per parcel plus 0.9 per kilo. A 500mL flip-top full of beer is going to weigh about 950g so shipping on 20 of them with the packaging will be about Euros 32. Their website lists the EU countries they ship...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Hi Mark No problem, happy to share the full info! I ordered 24 bottles of Hacker-Pschorr Munchner Dunkel as I prefer the darker styles. (I believe you can mix and match beers provided you order in multiples of 24) My order (placed on the morning of Friday 12th June was delivered by UPS on...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

They have just arrived in a very strong divided cardboard box, together with a few free German beer mats. No extra duty to pay. That's a faster service than we get from on-line shopping with the local supermarkets.

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Has anyone ordered from biermarket.de either in response to this thread or in the past? I e-mailed them on Friday (as they require you to do that before ordering outside Germany) There's been no response the the e-mail so I tried 'phoning them several times this morning but only got an...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

I found the following via Google Alcohol of European Origin Most goods which originate from any member European of the EU, have the luxury of not incurring any charges of duty and / or VAT. That, however, does not apply to excisable goods, such as Alcohol and Tobacco products, etc. Excise duty...

    Hello from the Cambridgeshire fens!

I’ve just returned to home brewing after a long absence (decades). I also used to make cider but in recent years only apple juice (unfermented!) Our house was once a pub (Pub closed in the early 1900s) so it seems appropriate to be making beer here (Although it’s “coals to Newcastle” in a way...

I went for Hacker-Pschorr Munchner Dunkel as I prefer the darker styles. (I believe you can mix and match beers along as you order in multiples of 24) My order (placed this morning) is already marked a despatched and on its way to UPS for delivery here on Tuesday.

Thanks for the tips Hanglow, just ordered a case of 24x 500ml from web-bier, worked out at £2.19 each including UK delivery.......much cheaper than beers of Europe even though they are only about 30 minutes away from me by car. It's going to be a tough job emptying them ;-)
