    Recipe and water profiles

The trouble with the American sites is they have their own opinion what our water should be and Pidgeon hole it where our beers tend to refuse to be Pidgeon holed. As an example Landlord should be sulphate forward but if fact it is more chloride forward. I tend to stick to the parameters set by...

    Recomendation for Water Analysis

What I am trying to say is these reports are very generic. You might be lucky and what is coming out of your tap is close to the mean average but the only way you will know is have your water properly tested. To be honest I have seen some reports a lot more vague than your one. As I said earlier...

    Hancock's Half Hour

Good he has done the right thing but still think it shows poor leadership by Johnson should have been sacked before he resigned.

    Recomendation for Water Analysis

This is an example why these reports are never a good idea. The main parameters we need to know are taken from at least 8 different samples with higher and lower numbers how do you know what your water is, You would probably pick the mean figure but that would be guess work. Some reports I have...

    Hancock's Half Hour

It's not a case of left or right I have seen decent politicians on both sides but we should expect them to have a decent moral compass but when the man at the top has no moral compass how can you expect the underlings to follow suit.

    Hancock's Half Hour

Again Johnsons stance is I consider the matter closed, probably a trick learnt off Trump keep saying it and they will believe it and is also a message to his friends in the press to put an end to the matter promptly. He could be also be worried about looking hypocritical as there are still...

    Recomendation for Water Analysis

I get mine tested every year and there is only slight variations. I also test the alkalinity before EVERY brew and the calcium every few brews as I believe these are the most important and they do vary but only very slightly. All other parameters are fairly constant.

    Yeast for Golden Ale

It is a top fermenting yeast but I prefer to over build a starter and store some for future brews rather than skim. WLP002 is the one I have used most on golden ales especially Dennis Kings galaxy delight that I brew a few times a year.

    Recomendation for Water Analysis

Phoenix all day long. I don't trust Murphy's as I bought some acid of them years ago when it was allowed and of course it listed a strength but after a few bad results I tested it myself and it was different if they can test their own products properly they are not touching my water. Using water...

    Yeast for Golden Ale

WLP002 and WY1469 are my most used yeast. I reckon the WLP002 is at least 12 generations old and still preforming.

    Water calc??

Bru'n Water is very American orientated. They tend to have their own ideas for the parameters of British beers that are a lot different to what we tend to go by.

    Go-to Yeasts

Liquid yeast is not more expensive as there are several ways of getting multiple brews from 1 pack. I have not bought any yeast in at least 2 years maybe even 3 years and on average I brew between 25-30 times per year. At the moment I keep 3 strains in the fridge, was 4 strains until recently...

What to do when the Salifert alk test is vastly different to what my water company says?

Water authority reports are not meant for some thing such as our needs that need to be more precise for brewing liquor. They take readings from several locations several times over normally a 6 month to a year period. This is then collated into a report to please the industry watchdog so the...

    Cummings testimony

Everyone who voted tory knew they were voting for Johnson. Plenty of Labour supporters either abstained or voted for an alternative candidate rather than vote for Corbyn. I know 2 Labour supporters one who voted green the other one Lib Dem and you can abstain.

    Cummings testimony

We are getting what was voted for. Johnson was sacked twice in the past for lying, as a journalist as well, and was still voted in. You couldn't make it up

Can anyone suggest a yeast for this english pale ale?

My favorite yeast at the moment for English beers is Wyeast 1469 West Yorkshire. Very lively tries to escape from the FV and leaves a lovely finish.

    Unpredictable efficiency on all-in-one system

My own experience is before I bought my grainfather I would normally get an efficiency around 70-75%. Since I bought it it is now 75-80% regardless of gravity. I mill my own grains.
