    Wilko IPA

I think as Slid said earlier, 300g of Enhancer and 580g of sugar brewed to 20L should give you somewhere between 4 & 5%.

    Safale s-04

If it's been in the fermenter for 4 weeks take an SG reading over 2-3 days and if the same the bottle or keg the beer. It should be done after 4weeks.

    What are you drinking tonight.

I must admit I didn't go near the pricey end of the spectrum. I was drinking with mates so we stuck with the beers at about the £4 mark. I had the feeling that nearly everyone else in the pub were doing the same.

    What are you drinking tonight.

That's the trouble with 7 or 8 5-6%ers, anyway, have a look at this: http://www.theprincen22.co.uk/ Sorry I should give these guys their due, every single beer was on point, if you don't like the style of beer you'll like the one, because they do as it's done the best it could be done...

    What are you drinking tonight.

Just been down the new Craft Pub that opened up locally......I went through about 6 or 7 of their beers and they were all really good. I was perfectly prepared to be disappointed, have the odd disparaging remark about mash temperatures or length of ferment etc.......the only thing I said...

Between the deficits in the public and private pension funds I'm trading flavour for a cold nose and a shiny coat on my 3 favourite dog foods I'll be eating in my dotage.

    Secondary or not?

Primary FV via tap and bottling wand into primed bottles and it clears in a week. I do dry hop but use a mesh bag and a heavy stone.

Help! First brew and tap is leaking!

If you've not pitched your yeast then transferring your wort to the other container and back again won't be a problem as you'll be oxygenating the wort and that will help with the primary fermentation. Failing that if you have Starsan you could spray your arm and reach into the FV to tighten the...

Welcome to the forum Terry, let us know how your Chinook IPA turns out, what're you planning after it?

    Re using yeast

I fill 2 sanitised primed bottles 1/3 full of trub, when the wort is ready I fill the bottle 3/4 with the new wort, give it a shake and tip it in. I rinse the bottle with wort again and in it goes. I've done this loads of times, I always do a second bottle but I've never once used it and...

The NHS is not in crisis - just look at the figures!

Isn't all of this just another step on breaking the NHS through cuts and bad management to finally force all healthcare into the hands of private health insurance companies, as they have in the states. Then the government get to charge us the same tax and National Insurance for a free health...
