    What are you drinking tonight.

Coopers Amber Ale with EKG & First Gold, 6%.

    Bottle Sanitisation

Ain't that the truth, how they manufacture suicidal tenancies into something so small is beyond me. The annoying thing is that they made the plastic piece hollow to save 1/10th gram of plastic and it's a perfect hiding place for nasties, I'm digging trub out of it eith a toothpick when I've...

My homebrew tastes of homebrew - How to fix

In my experience 4 months in the bottle will get rid of it, if it can be got rid of depending on the kit. I've never PB'd or kegged so can't comment on that type of storage. I think the age of the kit may well be a factor as well, I brewed a Muntons Traditional Bitter that I only realised was...

    Bottle Sanitisation

If you gently pull the grey plastic piece off the bottom of the bottling wand it will slide off. Maybe use a piece of cloth to get a gentle but firm grip if that makes sense. Inside you will have the spring that comes out first. Then you have the little plastic piece with the tiny rubber seal...

    What are you drinking tonight.

Festival Weisz, first bottle, Coopers Amber Ale, Coopers Stout, Muntons Traditional Ale and my very last Wilko Delicate Pilsner which is nice way beyond its price.

    ancient Egyptian beer

"This process allows modern brewers to utilise up to 80–85% of the fermentable sugars. In our ancient Egyptian beer, because there was no boil, all of the starches were converted into sugars and the maximum end amount of alcohol was produced, making it 100% efficient." Interesting point that...

    What are you drinking tonight.

A Coopers Amber Ale, 6%, an EKG.& First Gold hop tea when brewing and a late Bramling Cross tea a couple of days before bottling. It's coming along very nicely

    Best before..

I'm drinking a Muntons Traditional Bitter that I found was a year out of date half way through brewing it. I always swap out the yeast and it's come really good, which is handy as as HBC refunded me for the kit and the Brew Enhancer. I brewed the Coopers Dark Ale with Mauribrew 514 yeast last...

Hi guys I’m new to all this

Welcome to the forum Johhny, I've done the Better Brew Czech Pilsner and their Export Lager and really liked both of them. I'm afraid I've no idea about adding Tequila to your brew but it'll be interesting to hear how it turns out.

    Just a quick hello

I take 40 - 50g of whatever hop I'm using that day (pellets are a lot easier to dispose of) and put them in a mesh bag and add them to 4L (3 1/2 L this time of year) of just boiled water and let them steep fo 40 mins with the lid on the pan and stir it up like a giant cup of tea a few times...

    Just a quick hello

Funny you say that Graheme, I've got a Wilko Cerveza there that I'm planning to add 1kg Brew Enhancer, 1 tin of Golden Syrup and a hop tea to.

How important is temperature in fermentation?

I've been looking for both MGJ M10 and Mauribrew 514 but couldn't find either. I've gone for MGJ M20 Bavarian Wheat that goes up to 30c.

    Just a quick hello

I'm just on my last few bottles of a Wilko Delicate Pilsner, I brewed it with 1kg BrewEnhancer, 70g dark brown sugar and a hop tea. They're gorgeous, chilled in the fridge they have a nice crisp bite to them and I'm drinking them far too quickly.

    Bottle Sanitisation

I only use PET's and I'm coming round to thinking that the initial rinse on bottles after use is the most important. To the point where I will fill a just poured bottle with water and will wait to rinse them the morning after. I empty the bottle add 1/3 of water put the lid back on , turn the...

    Just a quick hello

I bottled a Festival Weiss last night. It'll be another lager, it's a toss up between a Muntons Gold Pilsner or a Wilko Ceveza,Brew Enhancer with a tin of golden syrup lobbed in.
