    Electric trucks.

Not to mention any that are going "long haul". I know for a fact that many Polish drivers will be two per truck, one sleeping while the other drives, so they never have to make a long stop / overrun their allowed hours. Having to stop for many hours to recharge would mean delays in delivery...

    Electric trucks.

How would doing that add weight and reduce efficiency of cars?

    Electric trucks.

I would disagree. If governments can legislate for car designs to be made to include headlights, taillights, turn signals, seat belts, speedometers, safety glass, airbags, catalytic converters, less polluting engines, and reduce injury when they hit a pedestrian, then they can legislate that...

    Extract Hazy Daze using Oats

Any Oats you would add would need to be pre-gelitinized. Flaked Oats are. Supermarket oats (whole / steel cut) are not. They must be mashed/steeped with barley malt (oats do not have the necessary enzymes). This might help you in terms of using Flaked Oats: A Guide to Flaked Oats By: Ben...

Ah, my apologies, I did not read all 4 pages of the thread....

Another alternative would be for the EU (and other governments) force the car manufacturers to standardize on a single battery shape (as they have done with USB-C chargers for mobile phones) and have the batteries be "hot swap-able" at service stations in case you need to travel from Norway to...

Admundsen Super Santa Choco Shake Stout

That explains it then. It did taste somewhat artificial. I could not understand how they made the chocolate aroma that intense using normal cacao / chocolate...

Admundsen Super Santa Choco Shake Stout

When I opened the can, it did smell incredible, like the most chocolate chocolate thing in the world. I was impressed at how they were able to get this across in the nose of a beer. I poured it in a glass and it continued to smell incredible. That all changed once I tasted it... It was...

Suggestions for burn out / disinterest

Brewing my first batch today since May... It's a Christmas beer !

    Electric trucks.

I didn't say it would cause the vehicle to explode. However gas under pressure has a tendency to want to escape through even the smallest hole, once in the atmosphere it has enough oxygen to cause a rather large explosion if it does come into contact with heat or spark. In addition, gasses...

    Electric trucks.

The problem with compressed hydrogen is that it is under a lot of pressure and hydrogen combusts very easily. So, in a possible road accident, if the hydrogen tank is ruptured, it can lead to an almighty explosion.. I think Thunderf00t on Youtube did a demonstration of what can happen, it wasn't...

    Electric trucks.

I remember seeing a show (might have been Top Gear back in the day) that said the solution to all of the transportation problems was to essentially recreate how Dodgems (aka Bumper Cars) work, a tether connecting to an electrical grid above the motorway, this would not only power the car but...

Suggestions for burn out / disinterest

I am going through this exact thing right now... Lost my job 9 months ago due to Covid hitting sales of the company I worked for, personal debt has increased, been on only 2 job interviews in 9 months. So it's easy to get depressed / drink too much cheap lager. A friend invited me up to his...

    My First Failure

How old is your equipment? Scratches in plastic can harbour the nasty beasties that we try so hard to get rid of... It could be your fermenter, a spigot, transfer hose, filling equipment etc....

Help with all grain set up

I started all-grain brewing with a mash-tun consisting of two plastic buckets, one of which with 1000 holes drilled in the bottom of it, the other with the drain/spigot, using gravity to push the wort from the mash-tun to the kettle, and then into the fermenter. It's probably the cheapest way to...

    Will reducing ABV affect flavour?

As already mentioned, simply scaling a recipe down to have a lower ABV may not / likely will not result in the beers tasting the same (or even similar), even if you do adjust the hops. Not knowing your recipe, were I in your shoes, I would maybe experiment with replacing some of the malt bill...

    Bottle sediment

To get rid of the residue brought on by bottle conditioning, you might want to look into a home brewing counter pressure filler (requires pre-carbonated beer from a keg or other source, and a special filler setup). There are quite a few videos on Youtube that show how some people do it.

    Enough chocolate malt, already...

Many, many home brewers I know make a Porter as their second or third brew (whether from grain or extract). They tend to fall in love with chocolate malt because it has flavour (compared to normal commercial beer).

    What to do post-boil?

What sort of kettle do you have? I use a coiled wort chiller. Once the beer is at pitching temp, I swirl it around to create a make-shift whirlpool and remove the chiller to let the wort "spin" in the kettle. This creates a nice pile of hot break and hops in the center of the kettle, with most...

    Priti Patel

Simply because one is religious does not mean one will not accept money. You are assuming that the leaders are "true believers". They may or may not be. They could also simply be power-hungry warlords who are using a religion as a convenient excuse to control the population. This would not be...
