    Easy Keg 5L

Bottled/kegged the beer yesterday and wanted to find out if I can use the mini keg to force carbonation. Was a bit flat. After a few pints I decided to leave the tap in the keg with the CO2 open over night to force carbonation and go to bed.

    Lederhosen?

Normal price for "real" Lederhosen in Bavaria about 150 Euros. But you can also pay thousands of Euros depending on the leather for a bespoke one ;)

    To Grainfather or not?!

Totally agree, however the Grainfather is not an automated system. From My point of view it is a upgraded BIAB Mash tun. So I decided to start with the ACE Mash tun (100.-), Inkbird controller (27.-) and a solar pump (17.-). You will also need a worth chiller (35.-) and some bits and bobbles...

    Newbie bottle advice

PET bottles are nice but the problem is oxygen permeability. New PET bottles are normally treated but they are still not 100% proof. Don't know if these cheap empty bottles have the same quality as the brewery ones. This is one of the main reasons breweries still deliver beer in glass bottles...

    Easy Keg 5L

Maybe you had more yeast in the bottle than in the kegs. If the taste is alright I would connect a tap, open the CO2 a bit and leave it in the fridge for a day or two.

    Easy Keg 5L

You know that the yeast should have the same temperature for first and second fermentation because this is the optimum work temperature? Only at the end of the 2nd (or for forced carbonation at the end of lagering) you should raise the temperature for one to two days (Diacetyl rest)? You...

    Easy Keg 5L

Hm, it's hard to say what went wrong, it depends on sooo many factors: What yeast did you use? How long was first fermentation? What was the final alcohol content? What temperature was the first fermentation? Did you cold crash it? What temperature was the beer when kegging? What sugar...
