    Best drink drunk?

The last 750ml. bottle of Saison D'Erpe-Mere I drank with a mate in 'Café Beermoth' in Manchester early this year, I've surely missed my monthly pub crawl!

    Doubling up 1 can kits

If I remember most single can kits expect you to add sugar or a kit 'enhancer' (dextrose + spraymalt) anyway, so doubling up seems a good idea. Is it possible that kits do contain a measured amount of unfermentable sugars? for mouthfeel etc.

    Question on bottle conditioning

Oh! and one little tip, bottle a few in PET (plastic bottles) you'll be able to 'squeeze' them to test how well the whole batch is firming up after a few days. Once carbonated and conditioned, this may well take 5 to 6 weeks, don't worry about any 'chill haze' if you have them cold out of the...

    Question on bottle conditioning

You should not need to add any yeast to the beer pre bottling - even after 2 to 3 weeks fermenting there will still be enough yeast in suspension to carbonize the beer in bottles, all you'll need is to prime the beer with sugar, or use a carbonization drop per bottle. It's never failed me yet...

What' the most memorable (not necessarily in a good way) pub you've ever drunk in...?

The 'Unicorn Hotel' on Church St. Manchester, for the folk club - run by Harry Boardman. Then on to 'The Hole in the Wall' Jazz club for late night drinking & pie & chips - great Saturday night out!

What' the most memorable (not necessarily in a good way) pub you've ever drunk in...?

Thanks for the correction! senior moment! Also the coffin 'seat' and the 'loo' seat in the bar. I also remember one bar on Deansgate that had a ladder on the wall leading to a door stuck to the wall just under the ceiling, and the sign on the door was 'Ladies' - Manchester was full of funny old...

What' the most memorable (not necessarily in a good way) pub you've ever drunk in...?

I miss Tommy Ducks, anyone remember the 'Kicker Bar' there - They had good Jazz evenings too. On the plus side the 'Peveril of the Peak' is still going (met Robbie Coltrane one evening there when he was filming 'Cracker') as is the 'Britain's Protection' Best bar - Cafe Botteltje in Ostend a...

    Saison Stupidity (Yeast Comparison)

MJ 29 works OK, never tried Belle Saison. However the best Saison I ever made was with the yeast cultivated from a 75 cl. bottle of Saison D'Erpe-Mere (KleinBrouwerij De Glazen Toren) - my local home brew club loved it. Like an idiot I never saved the yeast, but post CV19 I:'ll do it again...

    Peco boiler

I have the same Peco as you, i don't have problems with the boil - mine will give a gentle rolling boil when set at 100c. What temp. do you set it at? or is your control box fauty (underestimating the temp. or is the probe not fitting right) As to the mash tun, insulate it well, cheap yoga mats...
