How many units per week. [POLL]

I think I may have underestimated I was thinking pints, not units and didn't count the wine or whisky

    Healthy drinking

For the past 50 odd years I've suffered from kidney stones and am under doctors orders to drink at least 3 litres a day. Beer is actually good for kidney stones as 1 its a diuretic, 2 it has mild anesthetic properties, 3 it has the necessary fluid to flush the kidneys, 4 beer has been drunk for...

Pressure Barrels - More than you wanted to know!

If its any help all my King Kegs are from Ballihoo and I've not had any problems with them. I have changed all the taps to a "Brewgas deluxe Sparkler Tap" though, it makes it so much easier to pour a good pint.

    Fridge freezer to fermentation chamber...?

All I do is put the temperature probe in the fridge section when I am fermenting and in the freezer section when I'm cold crashing admittedly though it doesn't solve your problem if you want to do both at the same time. Normally when I have the probe in the freezer section cold crashing a...

Pressure Barrels - More than you wanted to know!

Very good and informative. you are a lubberly man for taking the time to help people with their problem barrels, though as has already been stated I think a lot if not most of the problems are to be found on the cheaper barrels. Maybe I have just been lucky but I've had very few problems with...

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

Yes you most certainly should get a response and if you don't rip him off a piece of your mind remind the over-privileged parasite that he or she is working for you and you expect them to do their job which doesn't include propping up a bar (even the vastly over subsidised bars and restaurants...

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

Serious question. Would it be in Wetherspoons interest for it to succeed?

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

The petition now stands at 19,501 only 80,499 to go before it reaches 100,000. It needs a good kick up the arse to get it moving. :(

Why does my beer taste like stagnant pond water?

Actually I wasn't joking (this time) From the NHS website The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are: a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature) a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than...

Why does my beer taste like stagnant pond water?

Isn't that one of the symptoms of Covid 19, A change in taste or losing taste. Not saying it is but..............

    The Coronavirus thread.

My understanding is the two vaccines undergoing trials in the UK, London and Oxford are really just existing vaccines modified for Covid-19 so should be perfectly safe it's whether they're going to be effective that has to be addressed. And yes I would have the vaccine, I'll take anything if...

Brexit Referendum - How would you vote now?

I voted remain and would still vote to remain fortunately I have both British and Irish passports and I won't be renewing the British one as I feel the Irish one is now more valuable/convenient. I personally feel Brexit will bring about the collapse of the UK. whether N. Ireland or Scotland...

Is this going to be the end of the orange man?

Kier was my first choice to replace Jeremy as well we must win the next election and I feel he would possibly garner enough support to achieve that. I remember my father going on a march with Jeremy Corbyn in support of the miner's strike I couldn't go as I was working.

Is this going to be the end of the orange man?

You won't get any argument from me on that one. I'm a labour member have been most of my life and I fully supported Jeremy he is the sort of Labour leader that we needed however he was always going to be toxic to a certain proportion of the electorate unfairly in my opinion. He was always going...
